I am definitely addicted to this hi-fi "thing" now... Altough aiming low in terms of budget, I am now hooked on buying stuff to complement the components I already have. I've started with the Leak integrated amp and CDT a year ago, then bought a Rega Planar 1 turntable and some ELAC speakers (mostly based on reviews). Then I "had to" get an external DAC, altough the one used by the Leak amp is perfectly fine, and a dedicated phono preamp. Then I moved into turntable accessories like slipmats, cleaning tools, weights, platforms, etc. I've got a 300 € TT and end up looking at platforms that cost more than that. Despite the low budget (which is irrelevant here) I think I am going insane. It is definitely not a very healthy approach to hi-fi. Having said that, I love listening to my huge collection of (mostly) CD's and LPs. I want to hear the music as much as I can, but it's the buyng components part that worries me. Thanks to bringing up this topic! All the best!

I buy new and used gear. Getting the "deal" is addictive. Reading about new equipment and watching KZbin videos about "the latest" is addictive. Finding the right gear that creates synergy within your system is addictive. Sourcing the right movies and songs so that your gear sounds great is addicting.Talking to your audio friends about "everything audio" makes you feel inspired. I have a true "love hate" relationship and I believe that now and again it is just best to set it all aside.

Yeah I agree, you can certainly be lead down the rabbit hole when it comes to hi-fi, as you say though sometimes it helps to take a break.
