In this video, we’re going to talk about sulfur in your diet. Are you getting enough sulfur?
Sulfur is needed for the creation of two important amino acids-methionine and cysteine.
Methionine is an essential amino acid, which means you must get it from your diet; your body can’t create it on its own.
Sulfur is also important for glutathione, which is essential for healthy liver detoxification.
If you are deficient in glutathione, you can accumulate too much hydrogen peroxide in your body.
Sulfur is essential for:
• Healthy keratin levels. This protein makes up the majority of the structure of your hair, skin, and nails.
• The creation of insulin
• Collagen synthesis
• Detoxification
• Decreasing kidney stones in dogs
• Lowering histamine levels
• Phase 1 and 2 detoxification enzymes
The best sources of sulfur include:
• Fish
• Seafood
• Beef
• Eggs
• Cheese
• Garlic
• Onions
• Brussels sprouts
• Cabbage
Causes of low sulfur levels include:
1. Taking acetaminophen
2. Infection
3. Toxins
4. Consuming too many proteins without methionine (fruit, vegetables, legumes)
5. High estrogen

My mom turned completely gray headed at the age of 17 yrs old. I know she said she couldn't eat eggs because it made her stomach hurt bad, eggs do it to one of my sister and my daughter. But she also said she was allergic to sulfur. I know she had a hard battle with raynolds disease and scleroderma which in the end took her life. I wonder what made her think she was allergic to sulfur instead of being low in it. I know my hair is all gray but i was older then my mom when it happened but I color my hair so I don't remember when it started. My mom had stomach problems, she never really ate anything. Just coffee and a cigarette if she did eat food it was just a tiny bit of food. She said she couldn't eat because it would make her sick, her gallbladder was so bad that she about died so they had to cut a good 10 inch cut to save her life. They said that it was hard to distinguish her gallbladder from her liver because they were both were so bad. I just wonder if she actually needed more sulfur, if so maybe she might still be with me today. Miss and love you much mom, 🙏💞🙏

Turmeric is also a good source of sulphur. It is consumed in Asian countries on a daily basis. This is a practice which goes back many centuries. Turmeric powder, in small quantities, is used while seasoning vegetables, curries in oil.

Im 2 years too late! I've been suffering from joint issues for the past few years, especially from stiffness right out of the bed. A friend suggested collagen supplements. After some research-- I started taking collagen and MSM supplements in conjunction and what a difference. I literally felt it within 2 days after taking the recommended dosage. It works so well I didnt even noticed until I realize I was popping out of bed in the morning and running around doing errands right away without any thought about my aching joints.

Thanks Dr Berg you have been a huge help to me. I started getting really sick in June of 2020. I went to er and doctors but no answers. I felt like i was dying. There were so many things wrong but no answers. I had a big stressful event that totally put me on my bed. Low stress hormones, bones going out of joint (three slipped ribs and 2 pinched nerves in 2 months), Severe insomnia, Severe constipation, No short term memory, hair falling out, high blood pressure, can’t make it out of bed, lost 30 pounds in a month( i’m 125 now), on and on. I watched your video on sulfur and hypercalcimia. My hair tissue analysis said my calcium was off the charts. I never put it together, I break 1 water heater a year due to the high calcium in the water. I also have a duodenal switch surgery so i suspect the high calcium is what lowered my vitamin A and E. This let my calcium go out of control. WOW. I’m feeling better taking MSM, magnesium and fat soluble vitamins. Also, K2 to get the calcium out of my body. If you have any other suggestions i’d appreciate it. Thanks 😊

Since Christmas of this year. I have followed a ketosis diet, mixed in with a little bit of the Mediterranean diet. I fast for 24 hours. I eat one meal a day. I've lost a total of 32 pounds. My blood pressure is now normal. my doctor wants to take me off my blood pressure meds. I just need to chart for 2 weeks take my blood pressure in the morning afternoon and evening. if that continues to stay at 120 / 70 I'm good to go and get off all blood pressure meds.

My own recipe; THIRST KILLER: 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tablespoon Lime Juice 1 Tablespoon MSM powder (adds a bitter to even out the sour and has massive sulfur for joints) as much Cream of Tartar as you can stand (for potassium) Fill up a 1 litre bottle (preferably bpa free bottle) the rest of the way with water (pref filtered)
@meggi8048
@meggi8048 4 ай бұрын
if you emphasize on bpa free you actually might want to go plastic free with pure glas bottles. there is always some plastic softener and stuff which leak from the plastic no matter if bpa free or not.

A major problem (talking UK) is that plants (which animals eat) used to get a plentiful source of sulphur from burning fossil fuels. Once released into the atmosphere it falls as ‘acid rain’. But, with restrictions on burning fossil fuels, there is little sulphur released. If you ‘grow your own’ vegetables it’s a good idea to give them a sprinkle of supplemental sulphur.

Dr, I think this is a grossly overlooked issue for many people. For those with h2s-producing path. overgrowth (e.g. sibo) it is extremely difficult to get enough beneficial sulfur compounds from the diet, especially meat due to severe indigestion and all the consequences of inflammation. Please consider looking into this subject more and breaking this down for us to better understand. Cruciferous veg. seem to be the one thing that is more tolerable aside from FODMAP due to their antimicrobial properties.

I started using msm sulfur... Because I remember my grandfather would spray trees with sulfur to kill fungus disease that causes trees to become deformed like a cancer growth. So I asume that sulfur might help fighting cancer since I think it has something to do with fungus growth. I suspect that I might have cancer, so I experiment on my self different products. Msm sulfur increases my heart beat i drink beforea i start activity, but it definitely causes going to restroom more often. I noticed I went to poop twice per day, or at least once every day😂

Hello Dr. Burg...I was watching and reviewing many of you topic for 6 month now...I finally I decided to do the keto diet..but 12 hour keto or the 16 or 18 hrs. Was not working for me. So I decided to do the 24hrs keto..and it's working...I tried 2 and 3 fasting but its kind of hard to keep up with it..to keep doing repeatedly like a every week...But on the 24 hrs... Fasting I had also to eat a normal diner..limit my self to the amount of the intake of food...the smaller amount the better...not all you can eat..in a certain time...to do another 24hrs. I started with 3 day fasting around May 8th..but got really serious about it with the 24hrs. On May 14...I was 239. Am about 218 now...am on olive on oil on my foods and coconut oil. Eggs cut out breads ,very less rice, no fry food...well ,all in general all your healthy recommendation...I eat more of the cabbage, I actually crave it...I hated Brussel sprouts,,now a crave them with butter...I started to plató with the 3day or 2 day fasting...but with the 24.hrs. fasting its working...I eat the nuts you recommend if the hunger pain gets to uncomfortable and the berries...so far so good...I don't want to rush it like you explained in one of your videos...I eat more fish now also...am trying to get all my vitamins supplements from my food...vitamin D from the sun...my goal is 198 lbs. But a little lower to give my self room to gain but to pass my body limits. A 6'" feet.i was 6' 1"1/2...but some how I lost that inch and half..but am 59 now. But I know how I lost it.😁 I thank you, so much for all your great advice and recommendations. Once,,I reach my goal.I let you know..of my accomplishment. Take care and have a wonderful day. 😉😎 Ps..I also do Apple cider vinegar 2× a day. Morning and night...I find out, it alsohelps...if you eat too much of something like beef...and makes feel like bloated,,it gives you a relief with 30 to 45.mnts. within an hour a feel better...its also true,,that at my age I can't be eating to much beef. So, I limit, now my consumption of meats to small portion, replace it with more vegetables.

I make homemade Garlic Sun Dried Tomatoe Pesto blended together really thinly to disguise that intense garlic flavor. I add extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, and MCT oil, dried italian seasonings. I use it as a salad dressing for my tomatoes and cucumbers. It is so very good. Homemade is the way to go. For the Onions I chop up the onions small, add extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, Raw Organic Honey, (a few spoons) apple cider vinegar, peppers, and let it marinate in a jar in the refrigerator. That disguises that intense onion flavor that I can't stand as well. It makes a great salad dressing. It reminds of a children's book called "Garlic and Onions" :-)

I'm a little surprised you didn't mention DMSO, since it is a great way to get sulfur into your body. It is absorbed through the skin easily. You just have to make sure your skin is very clean beforehand, since the DMSO will carry any other contaminants with it through the skin into your body.

I started taking MSM daily about 3 weeks ago. I have much less joint pain and inflammation. Only side effect has been vivid dreams at night, which are now minimizing. I’m taking the smallest dose recommended, and wonder if there is any long term issues with taking MSM. I’ve seen comments that one should “take a break” from MSM occasionally, but have not found out a valid reason why.

@@abunchahooey Yes I agree with you, but it can be a good starting point to then find reputable Sources. TED talks are another. You can often pick up some Research information from there. There is a site which lists or releases all the Scientific Research, but for me some of it needs to be explained as it is to technical, were as I can read and understand David Sinclair's Book, " Lifespan"! Good Luck.
