My sister has a guide dog who is extremely well behaved and does not go for food even when she's not working. Her boyfriend also has a guide dog, who not only goes for food but also tries to 'fetch' whenever he sees someone's arm move quickly because he thinks they threw something for him.

The boyfriend sounds like he got a dog that's only partially trained. The dog knows cues but not when to resist the urges as well. Similar happens when idiots get dogs for guarding and start training for that but then don't finish.. so they end up with a highly aggressive dog that's aggressive towards everyone and destroying the house..

​​​​​​​@@Eventide215 Dog training doesn't feel too different from soldier training. First you break them down, suppressing natural behaviours, then build them back up with new taught behaviours. If you just break them down, they stay a broken dog who feels disconnected. If you teach a dog to avoid certain social interactions by suppressing natural social behaviour, then don't teach the dog how to appropriately approach social interaction, you could end up with a dog that develops isolative or negative social behaviour.

Dogs that don't get through the first selection to become a guide dog usually get put into a different program, like mobility aid, or to help people with autism or epilepsy. Some dogs might not be suited for any program and they just become a lovely pet.

Chat GPT needs to watch less Michael Bay movies to come up with better ideas for flicks - this would be so much better if you had the robots go rogue and become the antagonists, forcing the humans to ally with the ghosts in order to defeat them. This is one of this big flaws of AI people don't understand. It can make up shit on the spot. Some of the people who are involved in designing one, asked it to make a biography of a scientist. Someone that wasn't real, and it did it. A full, seemingly real, biography of someone that has never existed. Even if you ask them to use real data the logic might just be "everything I create is real data."

When they were brainstorming tv show concepts it reminded me of one I heard a few years ago. You take 11 gay guys and 1 straight guy, have them all live in the same house for a month, at the end of the month they all try to guess who the straight guy is. If they guess correctly, they all get money, if they don't, the straight guy gets money. The plot twist, is they are all straight guys, so for a month it's 12 straight guys all acting as gay as they can to each other. Obviously they could only be run for one season.

My university assignments have had questions along the lines of "we asked AI to answer this math problem, find where it went wrong" for both my math courses this semester. I thought it was just something to try and discourage us from using AI to answer the other questions, but when you actually try and use it for anything beyond a high-school derivative it falls apart, because it isn't made to do math, it's made to talk like it's doing math.

So many people have a fundamental misunderstanding of how AI works. "It can't do anything original." That's not how it works. Just because it learns from things that exist doesn't mean it can't use what it learned to make things that don't exist. People do it all the time, and so can AI. People fall for the "It just copies other people's stuff." thing way too easily.
