keep the music!
@ccxu47643 жыл бұрын
music is fine as long as you cut it out in sound test, etc you already know this basically with music, it's either pleasant for your viewers that shared your taste (jazz, chill music, etc) or it can alienate them (I'm the former camp) tdlr i like your other videos with background music (although i prefer a shorter monologue in the beginning)

Great video, I may jump for the Zip-And-Fit liner and replace the foam. I also noticed that the anodization is really thin/light on the case. When I was screwing and unscrewing the case, my screwdriver (its hexagonal) was lightly rubbing against the case and the black anodization was scratched off. The thing was that I didn't even notice any resistance or scraping of my screwdriver and case itself, the color scuffs were pretty apparent but I was able to band-aid fix it with a black sharpie.

Nice review! My only question I have - and this goes for most linear users - is why do you all prefer linears, but still like the loud clacky noise that comes from the switch/keycap? It's not AS annoying as a clicky switch, but it's damn near close.
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi Maximum Effort! I don't find clicky that annoying actually. I still love the feel of the jades and navies :) I do love linears tho because I feel like they're the most "pure." What I mean by that is that there is nothing in between my keystroke and the keyboard, and I really enjoy that feel. It also highlights all sorts of problems like ping, scratch, etc. more, but I think that's what I like about the additional challenge to perfecting the linear switch. Prefer the look of the classic all black version and the sound of the silver version. Did you remove the plate foam as I have heard that it makes the switches sound better? I spent alot of time, effort and money on my Tofu60 build but I really do like the form factor and look of the GMMK Pro and may just drop the 200€ on one as I already have the switches, keycaps and stabs.
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee! I really love how the black one turned out! Especially with the pink accents, it adds just enough detail to an otherwise more professional look. I did not remove the foam, but if you do, it does "open up" the sound slightly. I tried it initially to test, and was too lazy to remove everything to take it out lol. But I've been playing around with this case, and when I figure out a good combo of things to improve the sound, I'll make a video! As it stands now, I prefer my tofu over this for typing and sound... Hi Grapechowder! I would say the Zip-n-fit liner is much more versatile. I noticed that the noico deadener is really good in certain situations, and a bit less effective in others. I'd work on spelling lube first. But no its really not hard you'll be fine just follow a guide. Do one switch at a time and test it till you feel comfortable with how it sounds so you don't do all of them then realize you over or under did it
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi mlcg66! It might seem intimidating doing it the first time, but once you get that one switch done, it's not bad at all! Check out my lubing tutorial on the channel ans follow the instructions for tactiles! If you have ping issues with glorious panda, I also have a video on how to fix that :)

How did you fit durock stabs on brass plate?
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
:) jewelery file and elbow Grease lol. Honestly it wasn't too bad. A nice file gets through the brass plate pretty easily, and all I needed to do was just a little bit to enlarge and fit the durock stab in there! I believe I linked the jewelry file in the description!

for like entries, what are your thoughts on gmmk pro vs nk65 vs kbd67 lite?
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi Eugene, I believe the NK65 is showings it's age and starting to fall behind the others. It does take on a different result with heavy modding, but I feel it's a lot of effort. If you're looking for an aluminum case with a solid typing feel and features, the gmmk pro is a good choice. If you care more about feel and sound, the kbd67 lite may be better. The gmmk pro has a very "narrow sound stage" if you're into audio :)

I wish the keycaps sat a little lower In the case. They aren’t floating or anything, but you can clearly see the space between the keys and plate, and that always triggers my OCD lol.

okay... i would consider myself a keyboard enthusiast (even though im into the budget side and modding prebuilts), but am i the only one who thinks nylon housing cherry switches have a very unique sound? even on that corsair board they sound unique, and not terrible either. obviously not the best but still... edit: can i get a link to that zip n fit stuff? cant find it on amazon.
@colinhendry61163 жыл бұрын
Agreed! And I believe Glarses has said something to this extent too, that cherry switches do have a unique clack to the housing. Personally I love it, but haven’t gotten around to frankenswitching. Edit: It’s a Target branded shelf-liner (the zip-n-fit)
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
They do! Many people take the housings off the cherry (myself included) and do frankenswitches with them :) the zip n fit is from target!

What does the default one sound like
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
The default one sound a bit hollow even with the included stick foam. In my opinion the gmmk pro is a great keyboard for the price, but acoustically, it can be better. I'm tinkering around with it to see what I can do... I think the gasket provided are pretty bad... I have some ideas and will see if they work out! If so, expect some videos to come out soon!

Can't lie, if there was a TKL version of this I might have splurged and broken my rule about how much to spend on a keyboard. Just can't get used to the 83 layout but I'm looking at the non pro since there is a TKL version of that one. Suppose I should wait and build the Epommaker GK87 I have on the way first, maybe my kb hunting will be sated for a while with that one.

I hope more manufacturers work to bring out nicer keyboards that are easier to access!
@nadtz3 жыл бұрын
@@Keybored yeah, there are a ton of less expensive options but if you want something a little nicer the price goes up by $100 at the least. I have a gk 87 on the way and by the time I've added switches caps and a nicer cable it's almost $200. And thats with being frugal. Hopefully this will scratch my kb itch for a while though, I have other rabbit holes to throw money at!
