I had a mini self-sabotage moment in my last paper for last semester. It was a 4000-word paper, and I had planned out my approach and timeline for it. If I followed this plan to the T, I would have finished the paper ahead of the deadline, and at a comfortable pace. But there was this weird crazy thing in me where I wanted to test myself and see how I would feel doing a paper much closer to the deadline. I even had thoughts of "What if I don't hand this in at all?" Silliest thing to do to myself. Thankfully, I snapped out of it (in good time)! I hope not to be doing that again when the new semester comes.

Thank you for this video. I’m learning a lot about myself while in grad school. It is hard and I’m currently experiencing self-sabotage due to many things but mainly I’m burnt out. Especially with quarantine. I will remember to focus on my goal as I work through uncomfortable moments.

The thing that really helped me was practicing my presentation with my friends and coming up with questions that people might ask and practice answering them. Also coming up with an answer for questions you don't have an answer to helps a lot!

Thank you for this video. Yes, I just experienced this my Spring semester where I wrote my paper on a topic completely out of my comfort zone. It was my biggest paper yet and I just started writing papers Fall 2020 when I started grad school. I did procrastinate unfortunately which resulted in three overnighters but I did finish!
