Turns out it is RPG game with shooter elements and BSG doesn't even offer a refund lol. Changes? what did they do? Changed Recoil to reasonable values after 3 or more years? :D What are they doing against cheaters? Nothing, because they will sell you the skill issue argument and profit on newly bought copies by banned cheaters :D You open flea market and by naked eye spot 10+ sus accounts. Inertia is such a gimmick that it should be removed until it is working as intended. AI is so barebones that it could compete for an award of worse AI on the market... It has interesting idea for a game, but BSG is completely incompetent. I was just thinking this. They may have not recorded those parts and i mean it makes sense to record wht would probably be the simplest and easiest stuff and the building they recorded being scanned is a basic building and prob doesnt take long but the other one might have been done when cameras were available or took too long same with the gun sounds may have not filmed it or took too long to do or set up so no one filmed or didnt have a camera it is pretty unreasonable to expect them to just have those handy personally i dont think they sound the same and the building i can see where bsg is coming from but most aks sound pretty close enough to each other to me tht being said ive only fire 3 sks in my life but they all sounded similar but u could hear a bit fo a difference

Well for Arma 2 and DayZ, they were at one point one in the same game as DayZ originates from the OG Arma 2 DayZ mod. At the time Dean Hall on his dev blog said they had the express permission to use everything they wanted to from the mod that came from Arma 2 with Bohemias permission and development help (he worked for them at this time on Arma 3 and DayZ was an Arma 2 mod side project). DayZ eventually transferred over to Bohemia from Dean Hall. They're also using the same engine but DayZ is heavily modified from the original spaghetti Arma 2 engine.

It's an amalgamation of two of Bohemias engines, majoritively the OG Arma 2 Engine and was updated with parts of Arma 3 code later and then has been worked on independently since with improvements and additions. These are simple things you can google.

I forgot what streamer made this comparison, but the only thing that's going to "kill" Tarkov is Tarkov itself. It's the exact same thing with WoW. The only thing that can kill WoW, is WoW itself. As much as people are upset with BSG, Tarkov isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. People are going to come back once they realize the "Tarkov killers" (Grayzone and ABI) aren't as good as Tarkov is all around.

I honestly don't think Grey zone is a good example of a "tarkov killer" because it's a completely different style. MFG themselves said to not expect to play it like tarkov, so I don't think that was the end goal anyway. They just used the timing of the unheard edition to promote their game, which might bite them back but who knows

Here's the thing. BSG showed exactly what setup they used to record gun sounds in the dev videos they created. A 5.45 AK doesn't sound different in Russia than it does in China. Gun is gun makes sound, so the same 9mm handgun recorded with the same microphone setup will make the same exact noise. NOW if we want to prove copying noises, watch foe the guns that tarkov duplicates audio on. The vepr hunter and the loud DVL10 have the same gunshot audio. The MP5 and the AUG have the same audio but the AUG has some sort of wierd addition to the end of the bite.

Not true. 1. Guns can sound different based on the environments they are in, or being recorded in. As well as even things like barrel length altering the sound. 2. When recording audio, not everyone is using the same equipment, mics offer different sounds and quality depending on what you're using 3. Compression and editing alters the original sound, and no 2 audio engineers are going to come up with the EXACT same settings, sounds etc. I think it's pretty obvious they sound ripped, on top of the fact the company is trying to defend themselves with evidence that doesn't pertain to the original claims. This isn't a matter of if someone "deserves" it, it's still illegal and shouldn't be accepted

Ofc, you could say that both got live-recorded, so both should sound like IRL BUT, other games have live-recorded their gun sounds as well, yet do not sound that similar, why? Because it depends of the configuration of the weapon, what it fires and most importantly, in what environnement it was recorded with what hardware, add on top of that sound compression and you get generally speaking pretty different results. And for the sound in ABI to be this similar is indeed pretty suspicious. And they are not helped by the fact that plenty of other things seems to be straight ripped out from EFT already.

@@Cyanmint-Gacus you have to consider that sounds are recorded. you never hear the sound as is, you always hear the sound + all the recording chain: microphone + preamp + ambience + postprocessing. think about music, an electric guitar sound waaaay different depending on how you record it. microphones have a frequency response that is not linear, preamplificators have their frequency response as well. all this not including post processing like eq, compression, limiting etc. which also have a huge impact on the final sound. it's like saying that a photo of a mountain is always the same regardless of camera, time of the day, season etc.

the caveat is that if ABI proves that the animations are handmade but has identical animations yeah it not really a good thing for BSG. I am European and have been to China for work about 15 times. I love China to bits, it's absolutely bonkers and amazing. However - there's just a different culture about both cheating and copying - it's just not considered as immoral as it is in Europe or the US. It's up to you to protext yourself from it. I am not scratching my head for one second that they did take a lot of 'inspiration' lol. That being said, while BSG violating protected trademarks is a completely seperate issue, it's interesting to see how worked up they get when it's them on the receiving end. And tbh, the level of aggression on ABI's end is also something I have not seen before.

Cheating is generally the most well known secret in the world. Sports, business, you name it, people are cheating as hard as they can. Especially when there is money on the line. Only the gullible and the nationalistic don't understand this, but that's redundant. American sports motto : If you're not cheating, you're not trying and it's only cheating if you get caught. In HS wrestling (I was probably 15) my coaches taught me how to hurt my opponent in ways the ref wouldn't catch. Including grabbing them by their asshole when you drag them. In boxing, coaches would teach you how to keep your elbow out on hooks and uppercuts. Why? If you miss them, you might accidentally hit them with it without the point deduction for throwing illegal elbows. regarding the weapon models argument. No game company owns the rights to the accurate in game model of real world firearms or knives or tools or so on or in other words if it's a real world object and they're using a accurate in game render of it its not something they can patent however they do need licensing for the actual name and appearance of certain real world weapons and such if the real world manufacturer or real world license holder themself requires it which not all do and this is why in some shooters you have several accurate depictions of guns with they're real names then in the same game you have accurate models with made up names and reworked models based on a real world gun with either a real guns name or a made up name that's a play off it

TLDR: Personally I think they are lying about a few things and acting cocky about it, the loss in trust is gonna be the biggest issue they will face. I think the game is different enough to not really matter because rn it just feels like a few things are the same as EFT. I mean, it does seem like they took/stole a few things from EFT but like it doesn't seem like it's THAT much and it's just a few assets here and there, so far it was what? A building, a gun model, a sound file, and a few animations? The M4 model I don't count because they're internal parts that could be "moving" parts and taken out for performance since we will never see them/could cause clipping when firing the gun and there really wouldn't be much of a point to model/animate those parts in general, MAYBE they took a small note from making the M4 from EFT, like studied and copied rather then ripping the file directly, Another developer of the isle put it this way "We are making a unique game, there is no other formula or path that has been done before to copy and take notes of, path or road previously established so we are learning as we go because it's never been done before, other genres can look at other games and go "Ah they did it like this so we can too" look at what has been done and see what has failed or succeeded and learn from others mistakes." (Or something like that) so that could be what this just is, they look at EFT and take some notes on what to do so they aren't making it up as they go, so I don't really care to count that. There could be much more but rn it sort of just feels like 90-95% of the game is their own with a few things taken/stolen from EFT so it's meh. The biggest issue however seems to be how they are going about handling this, just feels like they are diverting and lying, could just be a translation issue or something else. Game developers reuse assets/code from other places all the time to save time and cut corners and that's all this feels like to me is to cut corners, the main thing is that if the game plays much differently then tarkov which it seems it does so I don't think there will be much issue in court other then a cease and desist but other then that nothing IMO unless they can prove a lot more. The biggest damage tho is that it heavily seems they are lying and if they are then losing the trust from their fanbase is gonna hit them the hardest. TBH tho, if it is just a few things like small assets like this then personally I don't really care, the game seems to have a ton more things different and unique from EFT aside from those few things and seems to be a much more chill and less stressful tarkov, I've wanted EFT to be less hardcore/tedious/annoying for so long, I actually wanted BSG to go under and sell the game to another company and have someone else take over developing tarkov because there was no other game out there like EFT and by how nikitia has been acting in changing some stuff for EFT atm it really does seem the majority of the player base feels the same in the fact tarkov is too damn annoying to be fun and fun is what the majority of the fan base agrees on. IMO EFT started going downhill when they added face hitboxes, too much realism just creates annoying environments and at best tarkov felt toxic to play, granted if there was less cheaters it would feel less toxic however I think EFT in itself is to blame a bit for the amount of cheaters it has, it's a hard game thus people wanna play but they suck so they were pushed to cheat so they can play thus making the game harder thus pushing more players to cheating because they felt the skill ceiling was higher and they couldn't keep up and it just keeps going round and round. Like I said tho, IDC if they stole or copied a few things from EFT but I do care that they are denying it and that they are making it very obvious they are denying it by acting cocky and deverting it and being smug about it too.

Because he wants the game to be "Hardcore and realistic!" AKA annoying as fuck to play. Nikitia literally stated "Tarkov is not ment to be fun, it is ment to be satisfying when it goes your way." So it is literally not a game designed to be fun, but it just now feels like he is being schooled that fun is priority over everything else, no competition means he could do what he wanted and people had to settle and play EFT or play no game in the genre and they obviously took it as "We are doing great!". You may have a booming business in the burger industry but if you're the only burger joint in town then that doesn't mean your burgers are good, being number 1 is easy when there is no other players.

I think the idea is cool, I liked the physical maps aesthetically and it makes sense in the context of the game. itd be nice for Tarkov to have some competition, it might make it so BSG has to focus on maintaining their game to keep players. However, Im not all too sure about Arena Breakout. Its a free-to-play game, that is a pc port of a mobile game, run by a chinese(?) company that doesnt want to directly respond to what people are asking. Their Vagueness is a tad bit concerning, and their inability to respond *directly* to what people are saying about copying, only adds to my bad feelings. i mean, people copy things from people all the time in the media industry. i expect battlestate copied (but adjusted) many things from previous games and other media. We're just in an era of humanity where most things have been thought of already, most details have been lain out, and most visual things have been shown. not saying it's ok, but it's just the way it goes.
