How can Arenski be overlooked when he writes this way? What a fantastic composition. Wonderful musicianship. Irina is splendid.

Arensky in general is overlooked. However, this piano trio is actually the most often performed of any of his works.

How I wish I could be there watching the three phenomenal performers playing my favorite piano trio on a beautiful stage!
@abe_487 ай бұрын
Wonderful performance! For years, I was used to listening to Les Beaux Trio's rendition of this wonderful trio. But listening to these three ladies is a joyful experience. It is also nice watching them play; from the stoic performance by Irina on Piano to the playful and emotional Cello performance by Sol Gabetta. Meanwhile, the violinist Baiba Skride remains the voice-of-reason moderating the two other players. Perhaps, Arensky meant it that way in composing this great trio!
@gefechtskehrtwendung99427 ай бұрын
I tend not to like Les Beaux Trio's interpretations of piano trios. The best gems are if you can find recordings with Heifetz, Rubinstein, and Piatigorsky or other cellists
@abe_487 ай бұрын
@@gefechtskehrtwendung9942 In my experience the performances are usually hit or miss. I use the Gold Standard to judge and that is the Tchaikovsky Trio. Interestingly, not many aced it except for Moscow Conservatory Trio with Paul Ostrovsky, IMO.

What a wonderful lilting first movement. Then the skills demanded of all the trio blew me away in the Scherzo. The elegy was serene and the last movement was a gem. This was so very well performed. thanks to all concerned.

really beautiful!! Played by my wonderful friends.. Collect only the poems you wrote and tie them together. So heavy, so weak If you forget, you will be forgotten. Try it like that It was an endlessly slippery road No, you got lost in pure white thirst No, only on that road can you rest You can rest on the road Pointers wander in the darkness No, that road with loose white hair points to the darkness The dog burying its bone behind the wall is no longer visible The cat that breastfeeds its kittens has no signs of losing its long hair, its wings are dead, and its wings are straight. It is said that we were born is not a crime, and that we live is not a punishment. Saying that life can't be anywhere else No, trees whistling at midnight Sinning and everything on the road slipping The moon rises No, the moon happens to exist in such an orbit and in such a distance by chance and as if you believe this coincidence to be true Gather poems together Like saying I love the moon without knowing the back side of the moon Like calling unknown distant lights stars Truth has many faces Death has only one face So, endure your thirst and walk the road, so if you forget, you will be forgotten. The darkness will be forgotten. If you grieve like the rising moon, I will love life. If you want to live, you will live, let it go like that ..
