I've always been a huge Marvel Ares fan. He's like a caricature version of what you would think him to be, like a WWE wrestler. Michael Brian Bendis gave the character a sort of self-aware sense of humor. You get a sense that this guy is just bored after thousands of years and he's just trying to have fun, and he runs with the absurdity. He's a great villain/anti-hero.
