Aretha was dying of cancer and traveled all over the country by bus to bless her loyal fans with her majestic voice. This is why she was a legend, an icon and made women proud to be women and Black Americans proud to be gifted and black. You have gone from labor to reward, but your music will live forever

I love when Ms. Franklin plays that piano and sings. She can sing sang. At 75, she looks great and still got an incredible voice.

I'm not sure why she says it is her 54th year in the business. Not counting her time traveling with her father and the live album she released in 1956, her first album for Columbia Records, "Aretha Franklin with the Ray Bryant Combo" was released in 1961. That would make this her 56th year at minimum, or if you go back to her first album, her 61st year.

Well I guess when you`ve been in something for so many years, you might eventually get off track a bit of the exact number of years but at least she wasn`t too far off.

Maybe she's discounting a couple years around 2011-ish for when she was ill, she was out of the game for a year or so from what i can understand. So maybe she's just oddly rounding down.

Maybe she did not consider her ministry through music, traveling with her father, “the business” per se....

I said the same thing. It's been longer than 54 yrs.
