Your Uncle Darryl played for me for The Democratic National Convention in Chicago that Sunday Evening And Miss Franklin Performed "The Star Spangled Banner" which was an impromptu performance that Monday Evening. I was so ecstatic to have Darryl Houston playing for me. Absolutely amazing. I will never forget such a treat. He was simply Amazing!

On man what treat. So happy to see this post of Aretha with full band doing Freeway. The baritone sax intro is everything. Plus she did the entire song from the l.p. Cd, and the in Jesus and freedom on the end , this is one of her best live tv performances

Looks to me as if that final "JESUS!" coda was spontaneous -- she kicked it off (5:20 or so), the band kicked in, and it was time to have church. I don't think that was planned.
