Quite a cool custom pistol. I really like the length of the 1911 Commanders, looks suitable on the Hi-Power also.

Looks great. I love seeing a detective. I saw a BHP where a custom shop in the 1970s cut out two 5/8 inch pieces in both fore sections and cut the barrel to get a Browning detective. I think he did a dozen. Maybe someone knows his name.

Can you guys reduce the trigger reset? I own a MK3 and the reset is terrible. I would like to shorten it. Also the previous owner removed the magazine disconnect

I have a FM Hi Power Detective but the slice is very stiff . You can chamber around but it's hard. I've fired long guns for 60 years but don't know much about handguns. I gave my friend $180 for it about 6 years ago. From what I read i think i got a pretty good deal.

I really like this commander HP, I checked with a few "smith's" and they al said you'll never get one of those to run right (jam'o'matic). If I find one I'm sending it to you I guess, they all FLAT refused to even speak about it. What say you?

I’m shocked that the detective wasn’t the most popular version. The Hi Power was the only great pistol of its era. Pistols just weren’t exciting back then. The magazine disconnect was the problem, how do you guys deal with that? I’d consider carrying one of your hi powers.
