this the kind of music she’s always wanted to do. labels push for more a popish sounds but she’s always had a love for rnb so i honestly didn’t think this would be your style. but it’s definitely my favorite from her. and vocally this is the best she’s ever sounded.
@juwayriyahayed30944 жыл бұрын
@Endless death yours truly was heavily influenced by rnb as well. and no, this album vocally is her strongest. the harmonies she’s pulling off, the runs, a whole chorus in her whistle tone, the way she’s playing with tone and rhythm. Ari has always levitated towards rnb, she’s always tried to add a bit of that to her more pop albums, but rnb doesn’t sell.
@juwayriyahayed30944 жыл бұрын
@Endless death you’re right she does, but i think there’s a difference in higher and stronger. i think she experimented with sounds in a way she hasn’t before. where as sweetener and thank you next were very normal pop songs (very good pop songs, no shade to those albums cause ari doesn’t have any bad projects). but i think her voice genuinely was made for rnb. she has a deep and sultry voice and it’s warm. more over i think album is stronger cause she vocally sounds very mature as well.

I wouldn’t use the word groundbreaking either. But I think too many people assume that if something isn’t particularly groundbreaking that it isn’t still creative or unique in some way. The album as a whole isn’t necessarily groundbreaking, but it does a lot of unique and creative things within it. For example the vocal production, the use of the violins combined with the light-trap element of some of the songs, and Ariana’s voice in general is very unique. Not everything about an album has to be groundbreaking in order to still be something special.
@anys26564 жыл бұрын
@@AGEE_95 loved everything that you say. like it's not a culture shaping body of work but i love that it's not and that it's not what it's claiming to be, at all. i think it's what's so beautiful about it. and woah it's so well crafted. and tells such a beautiful story, about self confidence and love, learning how to let go of it and how to welcome it into your life again. and like you said, vocal production wise... she's done an impeccable job with her vocals and with making sure that the strings were present throughout the whole thing and were what makes it all sound very cohesive. idk i think it is, like you said, something very special.

This definitely isn't my favourite ariana record, though it isn't a bad album by any means. But I think her best albums have been Sweetener (especially given the subject matter as its her first record following the Manchester attack- its a super raw and clearly vulnerable piece) which has a super unique sound and is SUPER diverse in terms of the types of songs on it; and Dangerous Woman which honestly just has a lot of bangers. That said, of course thank u, next is worth a listen, especially given that it was written following Mac's passing and her separation from Pete.

@@legendsdaily8992 I disagree, the song choice on this record is perfect. Being in love again after a breakup is such a rollercoaster feeling: you feel happy because you're with someone and you do things that make you both happy such as sex (you can hear that on 34+35, obvious, pov, love language, my hair, nasty, positions, and west side), but you also feel confused and scared because what if you're relationship with him might not last (you can hear that on off the table, safety net, six thirty, and motive).
