important note about the person saying "lie about having dysphoria" - its not some outlier. many doctors are still of the opinion u need dysphoria to be trans (not true) and hence use it as needed check box to allow trans people to access hrt and surgeries. when u dont feel it or euphoria, than you have to lie to those to get your life saving treatments. I dont think thats her fault, but of the system. obviously arielle cuts it out of context, i am pretty sure the person explained it in the source.

I think you dohypocrisy as a transgender KZbinr because you believe people who do not believe in things you don't agree with are transphobic but you believe they can be removed when they tried to counter or rebutter or debate or debunk those in a rally or even show opposition peacefully and what if it's in a discussionary manner. because think about it wasn't LGBT people who advocated with heterosexual people who didn't agree they probably went to spaces where they were not welcome and then they managed to make people agree

this is my thing. i really feel like most of the LGB minus T group is just chronically online because irl none of this has ever been an issue for most people. i basically IDed as a butch in highschool and all the blue haired Tumblr non-binaries accepted me as one of them. ime most of those ppl see us all under the blanket term of queer, so it's very easy to be accepted by them. i came out as gender fluid and then as a binary trans man- all the same ppl from highschool didn't really care either way. they were just happy i cared enough to call them what they wanted to be called...

I think her point is that we have and have had pretty much reached “acceptance” (and equal rights) in Western countries ig (NOT “worldwide” by any stretch) for gays, lesbians, bisexuals (so for same-sex attracted people and for same-sex relationships) as well as for gender-dysphoric people who wish to live as trans BUT right now we’re coming down from that peak in “acceptance”, at least, in how the “queer community” is perceived as a whole, particularly because people have been increasingly associating it with, like, blue-haired heterosexual but “demisexual” non-binary teens etc (who have never been generally regarded as “valid” anyway).

As a matter of fact, that statement is correct and very understandable by anyone who's rational enough to see things for what they are, while it also might look funny to those, who're not yet capable to (or they lost the ability to) think critically. She's not wrong though. The woke left is way more toxic than the nonwoke right - and way more contradictory. The far right will claim that they don't support those who think and act differetnly - and they really don't, so they are true to their word. The woke left however, talk a lot about equality and equal rights, but are the first to try and cancel anyone who don't agree with their ideology, which is exactly why they are more hypocritical as they talk big about their righteous views, while they are doing the exact opposite.

In my time of being on the internet, hers is a tale as old as time. Step 1: Say some hateful rhetoric Step 2: Get backlash from original fans Step 3: Get acceptance and backing from other hateful people Step 3: Feel as though you're being attacked by everyone except those parroting your hateful opinions Step 4: Become part of the hateful community Optional Step 5: The hateful community becomes the person's new community and they make content pandering to them, leading all the original fans to jump ship and be wary of interacting with such extreme views This is seen over and over. When they face any sort of difference in opinion, many seem to jump on board with the hateful people that flock in droves to support them. JK Rowling is the biggest modern example of this. Kevin Sorbo too, although arguments could be made that he was crazy before. They begin to let their hateful opinions and misguided ideas about some overarching world domination become their reality. They are fighting an invisible enemy and targeting trans/nonbinary people whom have no horse in this race. Simply living their lives and trying to keep their rights from being eroded. Meanwhile these hateful fucks are making it their life's duty to hurt this imaginary enemy that is doing whatever flavor of the month they make up.

Yet, among many other things, he left his friend to over dose on black tar heroine, that he gave to his friend, because he's the main character. Risking your life is worth him not getting in trouble. Arielle hates nonbinary people because her ex came out as nonbinary while they were dating before Arielle went full terf. She was okay and accepting of their gender (in the most half-assed way possible) at first because the ex was still very femme-presenting. But when they started being more masc leaning, Arielle said that was too much and broke up because she's into 'female looking women' and not someone who 'looks like a boy'. The ex started taking T around the time Arielle wanted to get back together. Arielle made a post about how nonbinary people can't be lesbians, and the ex came out as bi shortly after. Arielle had a breakdown over losing her "girlfriend" to nonbinary and bisexual propaganda and has been salty as fuck over them ever since.

Hey buddy, another trans guy here. Nearing 30 and have been on T since I was 22. The point about the internet being a teacher, whether bad or good, resonated with me. I grew up in a tiny town in south Texas where internet was only starting to become popular when I reached middle school. They started putting those big ol bulky computers in classrooms and having many different classes available to teach kids how to use them. I took all of them. It was a haven for me because my father was a narcissistic (real meaning of the word) preacher. He had a family before ours that he left once he found out his wife had deadly cancer. She died alone in a trailer home after he left her and took the two kids. Then tossed his oldest son out at 16 for being gay. When he'd drive me to school he'd fill my head with right wing extremism and conspiracy theories such as the government coming in and slaughtering all the pig farmers pigs..for some reason. When I was a wee child he'd sit me on his lap and make me listen to Rush Limbaugh with him. If it weren't for the internet I'd be a fucking psychopath because my father made sure he blocked us from outside opinions. Then it came out that my father was cheating for basically my whole childhood with three different women. One of them was that my friend's aunt. Another was my mom's hairdresser. Third was his second cousin. After he packed up and left us, his second family, he moved to a piece of land out in the middle of nowhere, Texas. I'm talking 45 min drive before you see society. He now lives on a commune with his three wives, one being his second cousin, in a bunch of mobile homes parked in a circle around a fire pit. That was long winded but my whole point is that the internet saved me from what my father wanted to turn us all into. Now my brother lives in Belgium and owns a company. I moved to another state and got married. Everyone moved on with their lives except my father who still lives as a sorry husk of a person, spewing hatred and vile conspiracy theories that demand to take away rights from everyone he doesn't like. Besides all that, I always *knew* I was trans but wasn't able to explore those feelings until he left. The internet basically taught me everything he didn't. Sex ed that wasn't just abstinence and pictures of scary STDs, other opinions from people around the world, and the largest one was just the knowledge that my father was wrong. About everything. I became a staunch Atheist because of him. Not just me, but many others he met also were put on the path towards Atheism by seeing him acting out his beliefs. Acting like he was a mouthpiece for his god and could do anything without repercussion. A truly sinister mindset to subject everyone around you to. Almost a bit funny that he tried SO hard to spread his religion, whether it be by preaching or just creating new humans to attempt to indoctrinate, and instead he did the opposite. He drove lifelong religious southern Texas folk, as well as most of his kids, into the arms of Atheism. Edit: Really wanted to include a little more about him being a preacher. He ran a tiny church that survived off the "donations" of the church goers. But in reality he used his charm to deceive people into handing over their life savings to him. All of this stolen money only went to him, none for the family or the church. This was in the 80s/90s. One man not only handed over his life savings, but also took out huge loans to give all the money to my dad. That man's wife left him and became an Atheist. He did this to countless people, scamming and lying them out of their money while trying to make it seem like it was for the church. Honestly do not know how my dad got away from the law with all this. A huge chunk of the money he used to buy a bar with. Him and my mom ran it for a few years before I was born, then he ran it into the dirt with his scamming ways. He sure did put on a friendly face and tone to make sure no one expected him of all the vile things he did. From pictures he almost looks like the sweetest old man. Went a bit off the wall with this whole comment but you can probably tell I have some strong feelings about my upbringing. It's fucked up to be indoctrinated into a hateful belief system and then having to deprogram yourself from a position forced upon you. I remember being in school, pre-internet, and thinking to myself that it was dumb for them to teach evolution in class when my dad told me that's not what happened! Luckily I kept that shit to myself. I was sheltered and force fed right wing talking points my whole childhood. The internet really opened me up to the bigger world at the time, and it was then that I'd finally learned there was far more color in this world than the black clouded vitriol that was the worldview bestowed upon me by my father.

I understand where you’re coming from I didn’t mean as a blanket statement that the internet is a bad teacher I just I never knew where to look. But awhile ago I was curious and I never knew what to look up and my mom would go through my search history on my computer and if anything mentioning being trans came up I would have my phone taken and I would get yelled at and I would be called a liar and how dare I lie to her. I’ve always known in some way that I was trans but I never had the words for it I would just say “mom I think I’m a boy” and she would laugh say she raised me, in her only daughter, how heartbroken would my brothers be. All of this guilt tripping, basically I went into this blind completely and I’m going to admit a little stupidly. I’m sorry if my comment came across as rude or bad I don’t know how to word properly. @@Rainbow_sprinkle_fiend Oh no I certainly wasn't coming at you with any of that :) Your words reminded me of my childhood. I personally transitioned online socially from the time I was 16, then kept it a secret from everyone in my personal life until I was 21. As you could see, it wasn't the most accepting situation so I had to bide my time until I could do everything myself. When I was 22 I got a friend and we drove to Austin, to the only planned parenthood in the state at the time. They were basically the only place I could find in Texas that did HRT. I've since moved to New Mexico, which has FAR better resources and protections in place for trans citizens. And cannabis is legal too, so win win. Honestly I never had the "coming out" conversation with my mom. I left her a letter under my keyboard, she said she didn't understand but accepted it, and then we have not talked about it again for nearly 8 years. My parents didn't understand technology so I had free reign of the internet when I was younger and googled everything under the sun. Long nights of slipknot on repeat while reading everything on the internet I could find. I'm very sorry about your situation of your mother reading your search history. Growing up now seems so different than it did 10 or 20 years ago. I recommend using the browser in Private mode if you want to sustain your privacy. Or even a browser such as DuckDuckGo that you can set to erase your data each time you close it. Another thing, and it really sucks, is that until you're 18ish your parents are looking at your as their property. Lots of parents are under the assumption that kids these days are controlled by the internet or something else along those lines. Many can't fathom the world you're growing up in right now. They can't imagine themselves as a kid again or remember how it was to not be taken on your words because of your age. Tale as old as time. Kids struggling for their own sense of self against their parents control over them. Let's face it, with how politicized being trans is right now it's not going to be easy to convince others that will never experience dysphoria in their life just how crippling it can be. Age is also an easy attack to make on someone for a conflicting opinion. If your parents find themselves with negative opinions of trans people, then it is a given that they're going to talk down to you with age. It's why I avoided the conversations as a teen. People will hand wave off your words as just being a naive kid. But now that I'm nearly 30 it doesn't happen anymore. My family aren't making mean comments anymore, not knowing I'm trans. They show support when there's a negative article they see against trans people. Now they understand, because I'm an adult living the experience now. They see that *I* am a trans person whom they know that is just getting on with my life. So their entire opinion towards that elephant in the room has changed over the years just by knowing one trans person. I know none of this helps right now and I remember feeling trapped as well. But in the future you also can be the person who changes the opinions of others just by existing. :)

She considers herself a gold star lesbian and was personally offended when one of her past girlfriends came out as trans and started taking T. She broke it off and said she didn't want "women that looked like men". So she takes her gold star lesbianism so seriously that she felt like it was a mark on her perfect record of never having dated a guy. Seems like she's just going after all trans people so she doesn't look like she lost her silly gold star. Edit: I'm married and not into women but goodness if Ariel isn't a menagerie of red flags. The question shouldn't be if she'd date trans people, but rather if ANYONE should date her. She wants to ban trans women from queer spaces just because she doesn't want to be "forced" to date one (I guess just being in the same room with someone means being forced to date them?) and yet she openly criticizes trans men for transitioning because she thinks they should be lesbians so that she can date them. So, no transition = date-able woman BUT yes transition = not acceptable for her gold star lesbian status. Everything about trans people seems to be centered around how fuckable they are and how they reflect on HER self imposed labels. All about her her her. Fuck other people living their own lives, lets just judge EVERYONE based on how fuckable they are to deeply egotistical gold star lesbian, Ariel!

@Wanderlust06705 I haven't watched her channel in years, but I'll take your word for it. There's multiple reasons for both her and them to be friends, even if she's transphobic. From her end, it could be that: 1 They were friends before the transition, and the friendship means a lot to them. The classic "You're the good one". 2 Her trans friends share her transphobic views, and that's why she accepts them. 3 She uses them as a shield to be like, "I'm not transphobic, look at my trans friends." From their end, it could also be that they want to be seen as 'The good one' or that they hope that her being friends with them will change her point of view. I don't know what her situation is, but in general, a person can definitely be phobic towards a group and still have friends in that said group. I do agree that calling her 'a raging transphobe' was a bit aggressive of me, and I appreciate you pointing it out. If defence of the "just lie about it" chick, I think I already know what point she's making- and it's likely not as bad as it's been edited to appear. If you want to transition in a lot of places you need to prove you have gender dysphoria. Your desire to transition and your consent alone is not enough to be put on the medication. "Showing you have gender dysphoria" in a lot of medical contexts often involves fitting into a very stereotypical box and being ~diagnosed~ as transgender, before being allowed to transition. I'm a trans woman, I do feel gender dysphoria, transition really did save my life. but I'm also a punk rocker. I'm a femme, but I'm certainly not the most girly girl in the world. I used to joke "I'm a tomboy trapped in a real boys body". Even so, Whenever I show up to any medical appointment related to my transition- you better believe I'm wearing the most inoffensively feminine makeup, a skater dress, and pastel pink pumps- carrying a handbag with sickly cute heart shaped buckles- trying my absolute hardest to pass. Before I grew my hair out long, I'd even put on a blonde wig for appointments, and I fucking hate wearing wigs. But I did it anyway- Because that's what cis people expect a person with gender dysphoria to look like. It doesn't matter how you feel, you sometimes need to dress it up a bit for them, because before I started doing that- they wouldn't give me any fucking hormones.

If I showed up to get top turgery in one of my frilly shirts or pink I worry they'd think I was just a "trender" or lying. Yeah honestly, my dysphoria was pretty bad. But what finally made me make the jump into transitioning was advice I heard about paying attention to gender euphoria. And even if it’s not the most common, there’s surely definitely trans people who don’t have a lot of dysphoria but do get a lot of euphoria when they align with their identity. Obviously, those people should get to medically transition too if they want it.
@PumkRock

@@hungrytroodontid Yeah I just don't understand why we get treated like this tbh. Can medical transition have lasting, difficult to reverse, consequences on your body? ofc it can! Would it be awful if someone did that on a whim and regretted it- sure! But transition and HRT are treated with such excessive caution compared to everything else. People can get full face tattoos with no medical oversight, and if they regret doing it, it's widely accepted that it was their own dumb fault. I didn't have to be reviewed, psych evaluated, and then have a panel of teetotal doctors decide I "genuinely looked like I needed a beer" before buying alcohol- and my years of trying to drink away my dysphoria definitely caused more damage to my body than HRT ever could.

@@PumkRock Just like your example with the face tattoo, I felt anger when I heard cis women can get breasts surgeries without getting their mental health evaluated first. Like that has so much more healing than a tattoo. And yet, it’s also seen as something okay to do if you are cis. At least compared to when trans people do it. I’m sorry you struggled with alcoholism, I do hope these days are better for you. It really is crazy how society makes us feel like hurting ourselves is the better option. For me, it was anorexia. So much so that I think I stunted my growth in middle school. And now as a man, I’m REALLY short. But I doubt I would have done that to myself had I been allowed to only go through male puberty.

@@hungrytroodontid for what it's worth I dealt with anorexia too. My slender build was the "most feminine" thing about me, I clung to it obsessively. The irony is, when I actually started taking HRT, my idealised femboy flat stomach turned into a very average for a female looking tummy that met the fat forming around my hips. It was only then that I realised just how bullshit the beauty standards enforced on women truly were. I looked more like the "ideal woman" as my pre HRT "cross dresser" self than I did when I was actually more tangibly "biologically female". I have a woman's body now, but most men would select my before photo as the prettiest if only shown my midriff. I stopped purging. Now if Only I could stop drinking.

@Razilly wouldn't know. Never had my chromosomes tested. A cis woman can have xxy and never know it. Look up María José Martínez-Patiño for a good example here. Sex is also a spectrum, saying it's not claims intersex people don't exist when obviously that's not true. If I do have a y chromosome somewhere, oh well, still a woman, regardless. Just like if Arielle did. My point is people want to point to chromosomes and stuff to prove their point, but it lands flat because even in middleschool and high school biology, you learn about all the varieties of chromosomes. So by Arielles logic if she had a y chromosome, even tho by all appearances she's a cis woman, she'd actually be a "bIoLoGiCaL mAlE."

And if you as a lesbian transphobe find a womaj attractive but are turned off if you find out shes trans thats your problem Edit: the your problem comment is about transphobes having issues with trans lesbians in lesbian spaces. No decent transwoman is gonna try to force herself on you just like no decent man would try to force himself upon a straight woman. If you have a genitsl preference thats fine but reducing anyone to their genitals is awful. Also saying somone in a lesbian relationship with a transwoman isnt a lesbian isn't ok either. Regarding the "lie about having gender dysphoria," the problem is that insurance companies are so behind the curve on this. Without a gender dysphoria diagnosis, they will not cover any gender-affirming care. So, while my therapist and I agreed that I am transgender, since I don't experience gender dysphoria, we still had to "lie" to the insurance company and get me diagnosed with it before I could move forward with my transition. And I know people are going to ask, "why did you want to transition if you don't have dysphoria?" Well, if you must know Karen, it's because I still felt an incongruence between my gender and my body. While it didn't cause me "significant distress" (a requirement for a gender dysphoria diagnosis), I knew I'd feel more comfortable in my own skin if I transitioned (and I was right, I do).

Her saying that "we're fine, we've made so much progress around the world" in a way that sounded like "we can stop now" because that's not true! It just goes to show her racism and privilege as a white american. Just in the same continent there are places yet in Latin America where same sex marriages aren't legal yet and as a latinamerican woman that is a battle that we should still strive for. Also, conforming with a "well, we can get married now, that's enough everyone" is not a place we should be satisfied with.

Arielle has literally made a video discussing LGBT issues around the world . The USA is one of the best places to be LGBT in this world. I am incredibly grateful to be lesbian in this country

@@Wanderlust06705 Exactly, and her going "we're fine" makes it seem like because she's okay then everywhere else is okay and that is not true, I say this as someone who is NOT american

Can we also talk about Arielle's problematic use of the word "homosexual"? She's using the language of our oppressors. Including the people who oppress her as a lesbian. Sigh. Not unexpected, but very illustrative of just how far to the right she has become.

Also, she used "same-sex attracted", which is used by anti-LGBTQ+ fundamentalist religious communities and advocates of "conversion therapy". Ugh.
