THANK YOU for talking about this. I work at a studio, and have recently lost a lot of inspiration. Nobody talks about the constant struggle with artwork, even for talented artists. I go through constant feelings of inadequacy, wondering what style I should do, where I fit in, if I'm doing the right thing... I'm glad you brought it up. Being "good" at something doesn't always equate to happiness... especially when people make you doubt yourself. Your grandfather sounds mean, but I hope you get past it and continue to find inspiration. I sincerely wish you the best. Good luck.

I love hearing your stories as you draw; it adds so much greater depth to the paintings because you can get a sense of where they come from. And, btw, I so agree with you on the ''you get your talent from [someone else]" - I hate hearing that. I hate being made to feel like I'm a carbon copy of my parents, or what ever. Like, no, you get your talent and skills from never ending hard work and self discipline it's not 'luck' or genetics or anything other than yourself. Also, thank you for uploading another video - I got so excited when I saw this uploaded :)

Some are easier than others, some I'll probably never meet because they live too far away. But yeah, don't let anyone take credit for your skills. They are yours, and yours alone. This is the first video of yours that I've watched, and I already love the style and effort that you put into your art! I wish you luck with the whole grandfather thing and all. I kind of know what it's like to clash badly with the people who are supposed to be your family. Remember that just because you're related by blood doesn't mean you have to immediately get along or even like each other at all. Just make sure you won't leave them behind with any regrets or anything. The effort you put into everything, be it art or familial relationships, is what proves you can keep going. The fact that you even tried at all to be nice to John shows that you're a great and talented person, even if he didn't recognize that.

I feel like your art is one of the biggest reasons I continue to commit myself to creating. I love every kind of art but I've always struggled with pushing myself towards the things I want to commit myself to. I feel like I'm always going through the motions with my art and I end up feeling down and uninspired for decent periods of time. But seeing your art has helped me so much and reminds me about where my love for creating came from. I often go back and watch your frost lupin watercolour because I think in some weird way, that video just gets me in a really emotional state with my art and makes me feel like I can create anything. What's most important is taking time for yourself! What your grandfather said was so untrue it's hard to express! Your style is so clearly your own and for someone to attempt to take credit for something so personal as your art is, in my opinion, quite wrong. There are some days where I get kinda skeeved out about who I'm related to(my grandpa and what I know of his family) but I always come back to the fact that those people don't matter.
