Interesting that various viewers mentioned her struggle. Some historians actually have studied why more aristocrats did not struggle when they were lead to their deaths. Madame DuBurry was an exception; she begged and pleaded and offered jewels to her executioners. Some historians think that Royal was so conditioned during the 18th century that even faced with death, they just had to keep their dignity in check as they knew no other option or mode of conduct.

@@Napp28 there were a lot more commoners that were executed during the Terror than aristos. Revisionist history tries to paint the revolution as purely a class struggle when in reality during the terror it was several different factions of revolutionaries turning on each other in turn and killing each group.
@Napp283 жыл бұрын
@@harkmi3 thanks for your reply and you're probably correct to say that during the terror more average ppl were killed in France. (Of course the commoner pool was much larger than the aristocratic one). What isn't a product of revisionist history is that Aristocrats were killed based on their birthright and social standing and not by their character. Individuals like Princess Elizabeth and Princess De Lamballe (purely good in character) were executed only on the basis of their titles. I know during the design of the terror that literally anyone accused (noble or peasant) would face the blade.
