They have a bed in the Mini Winnie for a reason. If you get tired, take a nap for a few hours. Owned a 1979 Winnie for a few years in the late 80's. Had a great time in it. Good memories.

Another thought: Sure hate thinking about that lovely Silversides in Texas not getting the love it deserves. Chris Carter may have some truck rental connections. If so, I wonder if he could fix you up, and help craft a tow bar assembly such that you could get it economically (and safely!) back to at least Indianapolis.....

Have a safe, enjoyable, and hopefully memorable trip (for all the right reasons) picking up your Dad. Also hope that springs and the rest of the items on your list finally gets completed on you bus at Chris and Tyler's. I am more than a bit mystified why it has been such a ordeal getting springs made for your bus. I admit it has been a while since the last time I had a set of springs made I dropped my old springs off and gave the company the information about there application and two days later I picked them up along with a new set of U-Bolts

Most cities don't have a builder, and shops only want to work on off the shelf springs.

Tyler explained it in one of his Videos and part was the safe removal but conditions also play a part id guess along with the type of spring pack. Horses for courses.

Tyler is on his way to Scott's anyway to go retreive his (Tylers) Bus so a nice roadtrip is just the thing post Corona. And yep I 100% agree, flying with the older generation would be a massive risk even pre Corona virus considering the bodies mechanics versus pressurised flight conditions.
