LSU fan here. I thought this was going to much tighter game as the past 20 years of our games have indicated. And glad they moved this game to October as it always seemed it was unusually cold there or even icy conditions the day after Thanksgiving in the past. I live in La. on the state line of La and Ark and my Mom and her sister used to double date Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson back in the 60s when they attended Ark so I like Ark as long as they aren’t playing LSU. HARD TO BE HUMBLE across the chests of our student section when we had nothing to be humble about. Got drunk too early. -We were not ranked, We are losing our rivalry real bad, Not winning any rivalry, Our coach is on the hot seat from years of sucking. Green has 6 TDs and 6 INTS going into Game 8. Nussmeier, like DJ was saying will give one up, has thrown 6 INTs, but has thrown 18 TDs... 3 times the TDs. If Taylen is our best chance to win, we need to improve our chances. Because the QBs we're facing are better.

The problem with the officiating is no consistency and we are almost always on the short end of the stick. We all hate the targeting rule, but had the teams been flipped, the penalty would have been upheld. Still doesn’t excuse the way we played, but there were some massive momentum swings due to calls/no calls.

I sincerely hope that every Razorback player watches these breakdowns. I don't know how Critical the coaches are, or can be, because of NIL and the transfer portal. I can't imagine how difficult it is for a coach to be critical enough of his players knowing that if they go too far this player can just put his name into the portal.

Great breakdown DJ. Watching all the dropped potential interceptions again - man that was hard to take. Four I think. That is drive stopping, FG preventing and giving Taylen another offensive possession. Add to that our own three turnovers that resulted in points for LSU - ya just don’t have a prayer for beating a team like LSU.

To answer the question as to what needs to change, our QB. He consistently either makes bad decisions or poor throws in big moments. Petrino has clearly drawn the plays up well, even with a porous O-line. 😔

DJ, I love you and I love your breakdowns, but I think you are wrong about the targeting. He hit him directly in the facemask with his shoulder. Last I checked that’s the head and neck area. You can see his helpmate jerk forward. If that doesn’t count as targeting, then they should just scrap that rule.

The defensive player literally launched into the defenseless player completely killing Arkansas’s momentum at a key moment in the game. Any other SEC Team would have gotten that call, so why not Arkansas? Pathetic showing by the SEC Officials.

Hope BP can get him to see the field and trust his instincts. TG can be a great QB, but right now not at the speed of the SEC. Fear the Hawgs!

A defensive end responsibilities are to contain first then to rush . I played DE in high school and we was taught to contain the rush first then pass rush . If there is a back in the backfield know what he is doing first . Then do what needs to be done . Play the back if he gets it or take the quarterback. If then a pass you rush

I also noticed, DJ, on two pass plays “at the sticks for first downs” our receivers go backwards instead of getting the first down! I guess they are trying to pull back to make more yards but failed. I would rather see us get the first down. Both resulted in 3rd and shorts. Not sure if we converted or not.

The old adage football is a game of inches is so true. If the Hogs make a few improvements in their decision making, we could have a season that would be one for the ages. It’s heartening that we have the quality of athletes to go toe to toe with great SEC teams but the players and coaches need to make slight improvements and suddenly Tennessee wins would be the norm and LSU losses the outliers.

I think the QB has to change rather it be in the offseason or now. The tape is showing that these throws are there and compared to last year where there was literally nothing ever open and recievers running wrong routes etc. green has looked better about standing in the pocket but he’s still missing wide open throws. I hope guys like Luke Hasz don’t transfer out because he’s not getting open.

We need a coach who can swing these 4 and 5 star recruits, we are consistently last in the conference in recruiting every single year and we wonder why we don’t compete anymore. The SEC has changed in the last 10 years. Don’t say that we do more with less because we really don’t, right now Kentucky is out recruiting us, South Carolina, Missouri. We need a stadium that can hold 100k and we need a coach who can bring those players here because they won’t come just because we “Arkansas”

I have made the point on two other podcasts that the hit on Broden was just a good football play *when I played in the 70s*. However, if you go by the criteria in today’s game, a receiver making a catch is considered “defenseless” and the defensive player “launched” himself at Broden. Perfectly legal in my day and I wish it still was, but that is targeting in football as it is played today. Keep it up, DJ. Love your work. If we agree on everything, one of us is superfluous.

27:08 could have been an interception if he would've been running on that pass. We let them make a catch and then run 5-6 yards every single play. It made no sense. I don't know what the strategy was supposed to be, but it didn't make sense. Why those guys weren't right on them was maddening. Both sides of the ball looked grossly unprepared for this game though.

Green has to fix his throwing motion. For a 6'7 qb getting balls batted down doesn't make much sense. Plus he is supposed to be a runner but the last 3 games he hasn't, he is scared to get hit. Unfortunately Arkansas is catching Mississippi State when they're on the upswing. They may be 1-6 but Van Buren and the receivers played with fire vs Georgia and A&M. Definitely not the same State team that got manhandled by Toledo weeks ago. The Hogs will be able to score more on State than on LSU, but the D can't afford to sit back and give State's receivers 12-yard cushions

I think targeting needs levels like the flagrant fouls in basketball. Launching/defenseless/leading with the crown should be a foul regardless of whether they contact head/neck. You should never launch into a guy coming across the middle. Just shouldn't be ejected unless they launch at the head.

Before the season started we had concerns about Green. Hoped Bobby P would fix those problems we were concerned about. His TD/INT ratio is not good. It's bad. The concerns were warranted, and are now a thing over half way through the season with 6 TDs and 6 INTS. That's not improvement, and it's not gonna work. Has he even scored a Rushing TD against an SEC opponent? The answer is no. We have to score, and his job is to lead us down the field, and across the goal line. It's not happening.
