Cool! And even if the opponent escapes that "kimura", you still end up improving your position. Can't wait to try it, TY for sharing.

i'm not sure threading the knee would be a good idea. maybe just cup it. marcelo has kinda popularized the crucifix from that position.

You guys always put out some quality vids. I watch you guys, Erik Paulson's vids, and various others when I'm at work. By the time I go to class, I can't wait to roll so I can try some of the techniques I've learned. Keep them coming!

AWESOME work.

@Carnuss, there's a counter for that too (your opponent taking your back). We'll be putting it up shortly. It's taught by none other than legendary coach Billy Robinson. It's what the Judo players call Maki Komi Goshi except it's from the knees. Not saying your opponent can't take your back, but there's other options for that. Thanks for tuning in!

awesome, looks like a variant of a fujiwara armbar!
@robertgalloway39237 жыл бұрын
ok you guys that is probably the best counter i have seen in quite a while!! bravo i certainly wouldnt put my hand in the knee but threatening the angle push to shift his weight with a knee push is good to go.
@EricCortez1114 жыл бұрын
pretty slick, I like it...
@TakingItToTheMMAT13 жыл бұрын
@beargrylls3, yes. Kiser goes for arm triangles from side cross all the time.
@Ah4b13 жыл бұрын
Dont know if this technique works well but im sure you have to watch out. At 2:15 its a perfect setup for a crucifix roll for the guy on top! He just has to trap the arm between his legs and roll forward.
@maredes14 жыл бұрын
that was awesome!

Love this technique.....
@TakingItToTheMMAT14 жыл бұрын
@piggypoo also, you could just use the outside knee tap or just try to get away with bumping him far enough to get your head out if the crucifix is of great concern.
@LordNifty14 жыл бұрын
This is very neat, but what about arm triangles from mount? Carwin couldn't have turned out like that from Brock's mount, and by the time Brock was in side control, he had the lock pretty well set in.

that's freaking awesome!!! can you do this technique even if he doesn't roll you over from top position? like if he just goes for an arm -triangle when he's already established side control?
@63doughnut8 жыл бұрын
Coo - complicated ! Good , but complex , for me , at least !

Crucifix Is present big time,also if top guy keeps a good seat bet control,you grab his leg like that he just sits to his side takes your back with your arm trapped.so know you only have one arm to use to stop the RNC.

That's one of the greaest reversals I've seen for.... anything. If I saw this happen in MMA I would shit in my pants.
@TakingItToTheMMAT14 жыл бұрын
@piggypoo, yes he could. Every counter has a counter. Sometimes you can get away without having to off balance your opponent, and then you're golden. But if you have to off balance them, it's a definite possibility. But, if he's off balance and then you abort and bob and weave out, you've got him. It's a timing thing... with risks. But then, you've got to figure, you're out of position and getting clobbered anyway.

Another fancy low percentage move.
@minasz12 жыл бұрын
Yes this works I often use this but never saw it on youtube. I do it from when the challenger goes for a scarfhold but not have it yet. As soon he put his arm around me I do the move but i grab his arm while turning out on my back to my knees to get out. (not turning to my back like you in this video) . Than I have an armlock behind his back (flatten him out) or I climb on his back and choke him out from his back. Dude sorry for my english. Maybe you dont know what Im talking about.
@chrispiggott83868 жыл бұрын
I agree. reaching inside the knee is a bad idea. The crucifix is right there and these days people are savy to it. not sure I would use the knee fake at all. good move going for the hammer lock that way. but be careful
@ronzzo4512 жыл бұрын
1:48 can u say crucifix?
@Multiple_creatives6 жыл бұрын
Nice! There is never a fool proof technique. When doing this careful exposing your back.
@vinomaniac14 жыл бұрын
Slick. The hardest part is getting to your knees mind you. What kind of drills do you suggest to allow that tight motion? Hip heists? Neck bridges? Inquiring minds would like to know. :)
@Dvalb14 жыл бұрын
@TakingItToTheMMAT doesn't the knee tap/grap protect against him moving to back control as well?
@notoriousquinnb14 жыл бұрын
When you bob and weave your head out from underneath them, would it be a good option to use your head to pressure into their armpit/shoulder area rather than the ribs? The same principle used in a sit-out to back attack in that pressuring with your head into the armpit would collapse their base I would think, though it may take away the angle for the shoulder lock...not sure.
@chuckycol14 жыл бұрын
@yeeCARLOS i think if you keep pushing he will have to step back or he will get swept. Its all about the timing, thats how i see it
