Excellent video, Armand!! My favourites are the Mk III, followed by the 125, although the 125 is almost certainly, in my eyes, the aesthetic and technical pinnacle of the Speedmaster range.

As 1973 is my year of birth, the 125 was on my radar for more than a decade. I pulled the trigger on a 125 earlier this year. The only regret I have is that I did not buy this watch a decade ago. Wow… what a wrist presence. My absolute favorite watch in my collection!

Armand. Thank you for making such an awesome overview video of the speed master Mark series. I was confused by all the variations before I saw this video and now I have a better understanding. I can rewatch this several times as I start my collection and use it as a great reference.

FANTASTIC video full of great information, thank you! I was just passed down my grandfather’s Mark 4.5; have been wearing it quite a bit since. It’s an awesome piece for sure.

I like this humble and real amateur channel. Its simple strait up no BS (as opposed to TGV) Great work, thank you so much, its exactly what I was after. This channel consistently give brand model line specific history which for icons like the Speedy and the Tuna is a bit of a given. However to dig into the more obscure is a credit to the genuine passion for watches this guy has. Top stuff!

Thank you for the horology lesson. I got to say the case design of these Mark series watches are polarizing; however, I can see the appeal if one was looking for that retro look. If I had to pick one my favorite one would be the 1973 Omega Speedmaster 125378.0801. Anyways, thanks for the great watch content and the effort you put into editing your videos. You always put in great photos of the examples your referring to. Thanks again.

Thanks a lot for this video and the info! My father bought this Speedmaster Professional Mark 2 watch in 1970. I grew up watching it, and now it's on my wrist. It's really really legendary and enjoyable watch. I'm just hoping to be able to change its mineral glass (which took its toll over the last 52 years) for a sapphire one.

Fantastic video. So much I didn't know. My favourite was the Mark II with the grey dial with orange hands and minute markers around the periphery. I only ever saw one of those and it was in a store way back. More common seems to be the gray with red by itself while the red/ orange one you show is new to me. Used to have an original pre NASA Mark 1 and for a while, a Mark II with the black dial. Still regret selling the Mark 1 but that's life. On the upside, if I break the Casio, I'm out fifty bucks. ;)

Thanks for your video and the lesson on the Omega Speedmaster versions. I have a Mk 4.5 176.0012, that I have owned since new and still wear it everyday except for the periods when it gets its regular service. Absolutely love the watch and always have. At times I looked at replacing it however I haven't anything comparable.

Great summery of an iconic line of the Speedmaster. I own the Mark 4.5 176.0012 And I love it . Unlike you I love the dial layout quite a lot. You see all in a glance ! Wish Onega would bring the Mark line back instead of yet another version of the Professional. Great video !

Excellent Chronicle of the Mark series! Some of these pieces are really interesting and super cool. I like the M3, the 4 & the 4.5 (particularly the TV) and the 125. The 5 is basically ugly. I rather like the Lemania set-up with the centrally mounted minute counter and the 24hr counter & running seconds at 9'oclock. I've always been a fan of the Flightmaster. Thanks for this video. I'm contemplating obtaining one of these Marks when the opportunity arises.

I bought a speedmaster (the big heavy one with sloping sides) professional mark 3 in Zermat around 1974, however the back had the seamaster logo. It seems like there are many variations. The price was $300.

2:58 the Omega Speedmaster was qualified by NASA, not certified ! 5:40 the anodized outer case was an extra protection, especially as it was intended for use on the Lunar Roving Vehicle in a dusty environment 11:07 Worn by Leonov in space ??? Thanks for he speedmaster mark history. I, personally go for either the mark II or the 125. Visually the 125 is the most contemporary and cohesive design. However the mark II is not far behind as long as it is on the steel bracelet. Both also remain relatively affordable in comparison to the moonwatches though a good speedy 125 would give the mooonwatch a run for its money.
@_Peter_.

From historical prospective the biggest difference between the Mark II and the 125th is that the 125th was used several times in space and the Mark II was not.

I will try to reduce the number of adverts though I hope that it seems reasonable that I have to use adverts as this is the only way of funding the 25 hours I spend a week producing videos and replying to emails.
