@Ruikiri if you enjoy 3, most definitely should check SL it's a lot harder than 3 though and fromsoft skill jumps happen a lot more, not as much as LR aslo first person is probably the best in series there because other games it gets removed for some reason. also if you have questions, ask away. I've played more than halfway through SL currently on ps2 and again love the content. Edit: btw you can also use your save from 3 to SL if you had OP-I and already cracked build it helps a little bit.

Your movement is getting way better broski! Once you start incorporating overboost, you'll be untouchable lol also it's quite fun boosting everywhere. The OB can throw off missile trajectories as well aiding in staying alive 😅 also love the machine gun for missions, it's great in arena as well if you can keep locked on.

Fun video, enjoyed the game play! When this series first came out my friends and I played missions non-stop after school and then challenged each other on the weekends. A lot of what we learned and developed transfer from AC1 to AC2 and AC3. You were doing a lot of this stuff I put in here but maybe this helps someone else new to it all. When strafing, pulse your boosting. We use to call it strafe hopping. You keep similar speed but never stick to the ground so your left-right changes are more snappy and immediate. This also works for landing (so you never land hard and have that pause). Pulse boosting in the air is also great when you want to lower your altitude and change direction to avoid missiles. Overboost is great to juke missiles and you can charge with it into a laser blade attack. Laser blades have a subtle homing in if you're off the ground (so boost off the ground before you hit them). Finally, while not for everyone, embrace aggressive playstyle with lightweight builds and laser blades for arena combat. Nothing will hit you with some practice.

@@ruikiri The real skill check is the incredibly hard to time pile bunkers (blades) that debuted in this gen. They did a ton of damage up front and basically would instantly max out the target's heat in a single hit, but that long wind up and non-existent range makes them one of the highest skill floors of the all the weapon types. Laser blades are by comparison easy to use- no ammo, and they automatically lunge you forward, luxuries when trying to use a right arm Blade

any back weapon that isn't rockets or missiles requires you to kneel to fire! Tank & Quad legs ignore this requirement, tho! (note: AC4 & 4A remove this requirement so u can use whatever whenever :3 )

Valkyrie is using a radar jammer that can be used 4 times. Its a secret part that can be found in the stage where you are always overheating. been using that to beat my friends AC those times.

I even used that part on my tank build. Messing with enemy's lock ons is the best defense you can ask for.

Rapid fire orbital core + 1000 ammo machine gun and fast running legs is enough to run circles around just about every arena opponent and barely needing to boost. Throw in a shoulder mounted orbital cannon for some extra DPS.

@@ruikiri They're just a type of Core, so they're in the Core listings, in early 3rd Gen, Cores came in two flavors, Overboost (OB) and Exceed Orbit (EO). In their stat screens there should be a line item saying what type the Core is, but the quick rule of thumb is Crest makes all the OB cores, Mirage produces all the EO cores. IIRC the command to use either function was clicking in the sticks (L and R 3)

you might not come back to this game but one of the great part about this one is that you can carry over your safe from ac 3 to silent line which lets you keep all the parts.

The easiest way to fight in Arena is using double pod back weapon, plus inside mines. Just deploy anywhere they might follow you, and let the drone's laser auto attack your enemy, but you have long delay before using handgun. Also, you should try to train switching weapon with inside for defensive. Anyway, Armored Core is just classic of every FROM's games

The top rank ACs use an optional part called OP-INTENSIFY. It lets them use cannon weapons, fire waves from their laser blades and a bunch of other stuff. You'll get it too as a post game reward, but you have to earn the abilities.

Energy weapons can be good, but you really have to build for it. Generally I've had more success with low mobility energy weapon builds in AC3. You either need a super high energy capacity, or really fast charging. Either way you have to manage your energy very carefully. It can be tough to stay mobile and bunny hop around while maintaining enough power to fire your weapons. So awesome to see all the AC love lately! I don't even know how much time I spent in these games as a kid, and I'm beyond hyped for AC VI!

Pro tip: early game Ammo weapons do more damage than energy, but restocking cost money ... unless you are in the arena & then ammo is free. So the best way to play is to use ammo gear in the arena, then use the money you make at that to buy expensive energy gear for missions. Then by the end game you will be so filthy rich that ammo doesn't matter anymore.

in AC2-ACSL, enemy ACs you encounter are at 50% of their maximum AP. It wouldn't be until ACNX when they started appearing at full AP. Investigate Magna Ruins is a bit of an anomaly in that regard, where if you're not expecting it, Huntress can be at full AP when she turns on you. Granted Huntress's machine isn't all that powerful all things considered, but having to chew her down from full AP can really hit your ammunition reserves plus she can distract you from Fanfare.

@@ruikiri The idea is to make the mission feel like a normal mission then spring the betrayal on you. Huntress is at full health so she can survive the first half of the mission... not that I let her.

Extensions we're not activated the entire time I saw you having them equipped onto your AC The solid Shields are different they do not need to be activated but the energy extensions do

They have a slow fire rate and projectile speed, i know there are some optional parts that improve them but overall the machine gun is more reliable to deal death! ...to your wallet :(

Like kill most enemies in 1-2 shots type strong, it has the same level of love by the community as the Moonlight if not more because of how good it is.

9:06 1st to 3rd gen ac kinda actually plays like dark souls if you think about it, or more like bloodborne but the gun and trick weapons are reversed. The jank lock on is a bit more involved since you have to aim it, and the energy bar is the stamina bar, that if you know what you're doing lets you fly.

Good times.... except for one. If ya happen to pick this game up again: While hovering, Open up your OVerBoost, let it Blip, and then immediately shut it off while continuing the chirp hover. Valkyrie has one of the most broken AC parts in the game, ECM radar extension part. It so broken that in AC tournaments based on AC3 and Silent Line, it is banned for how too good it is (it disables lock on from any weapons towards you for a good 10 seconds, having 4 charges). When you fight against Exile, this is how most players who played AC3 have lost to him. Also you are again making another noob mistake by using single missiles on both back weapons. Only use one single missile, then buy an extension part that fires additional missiles when your back missiles fire for maximum damage. Please stop firing missiles at close range, missile have an arc firing that always makes them miss when shooting at close ranges. Also most AI Ravens you fight in the Arena will fly above you if you choose to play open maps, always pick parking garage because the AI plays dumb and tries to fly in a map where there no height for them to fly so they just keep hovering on the ceiling. I still haven't seen you sell parts so I'm also assuming your making another noob mistake in that you can't sell parts and weapons when you buy them for the first time.

@@ruikiri It's pretty hard, but it's not that bad. For me, that 2v1 fight against Fanfare and Huntress held me up longer than anything in Last Raven. However, that could be due to me being 13 years old for AC3 versus 16 for Last Raven. In fact, I remember Silent Line being harder than Last Raven, but I did play these from childhood to early adulthood (as they were released) so the later games just may naturally seem easier in retrospect.

Might wanna use those boosters you found. You did pick them up, right? Anyway, if you didn't, just use faster ones. The reason Grand Chief was able to fly like that is actually just straight up cheating. There is a hidden optional part you get at the end of the game that lets you use these cheat abilities, but it takes up all your optional part slots. The AI can use these abilities in conjunction with optional parts, and the upper tiers actually just equip ALL the optional parts. Good luck with that.
