Will this workout make my arms and legs more defined? Or will i just run faster and throw harder. Im 14 in eighth grade and i want to play on varsity next year, i am i catcher/pitcher and throw 60-65 when pitching. Edit: also how do i keep my elbow from hurting when pitching?
@ARMPitchingDevelopment3 жыл бұрын
If done consistently yes to both defined and faster / stronger. As for your elbow you need to look at your throwing mechanics and how much load (stress) you are putting on your arm. You may want to consider a throwing program that completely encompasses all factors. Arm care, arm strength, arm mobility, arm flexibility, arm stability, core strength, speed , agility, quickness, mechanics..etc. I will be rolling out a package soon on KZbin membership to help guys with this very thing. Important is to keep growing your knowledge base and do thing that make you better personally. Everyone is different and will respond and react differently to specific training methods. Have a great season and keep checking in. 😉

@@Nathan-dy8jl Work on any of the things coach here suggests in terms of body weight. So BW squats, lunges, bench press, pull ups, and sprinting. When you get a bit older (not much longer) you can hit the heavy weights, but until then, getting body weight strong will increase velo.

Hey Coach, I’m a freshman that sits at about 75 but I have a pretty good curve and change up. I’m on the cusp of varsity but just need to raise my velo a little more so I can compete with the “big guys”. Would you say there’s anything else I could do along with this workout that could raise my velo pretty quick from now to next August? Also would you say bench press would be beneficial? Thanks!
@colearndorfer52553 жыл бұрын
Hey, I’m a high school varsity player and will be college next fall, bench press is not bad and I’ve never had any problems with it as long as you have the right form and are doing it in the right ways. If you’re smart about it there’s no problems.

Hello! After 2 weeks you will start to feel stronger. Try to do 8 weeks load and 9th week do a unload week then take a week or two off. If you are in season think volume over load. Lite reps / more sets. Treat it more as a recovery lift / functional strength workout. Hope this helps. Have a great season. - Coach Jason

This looks like a great workout! I have a 6”2 155lb freshman son that is still growing. Throws low to mid 70’s now. He wants to hit 80 by spring. We’ve just joined a gym and looking for workouts to do. What’s a realistic velo gain for somebody like him that has never lifted before? Is +8 to 10 mph possible by March?
@ARMPitchingDevelopment4 жыл бұрын
Usually 3 - 5. It's really hard to say because all athletes move and react different to specific styles of training. The best thing to do is find a program / process that he like and is a good fit and follow it. Velocity shows up sporadically. Just be consistent and committed #1. Thanks for the support and I hope your boy gets his goal by Spring.

Hey I might be a little late but do I have to do these all on the same day. I like to seperate into leg day, arm day, chest/ back day. On legs I do reverse lunges and squaring and things like that and arms I just do the regular u know like curly triceps extensions and on back I do deadlifts. Will this still get me to 90 by separating into these days because I target each of these twice a week

Why the pitcher need strong legs?
@ARMPitchingDevelopment4 жыл бұрын
Strong legs lead to stronger velocity, faster rotation of the hips and are essentially needed for pitching endurance. Hip, Glute, Quads and Arm strength together help you reach peak performance on the mound.
