I really like Nier Automatas walk cycle; when you stop and stand, one leg is kept at an angle, off balance, most weight on the other leg. With a 1 or 2 second delay, that leg then also straightens and gets weight distributed on. Its such a small detail, but it makes them look human, which is so important for the story. At the same time i also played persona 5 with stiff akward run anims, because there, sich details wouldnt have underscored the story. Very wise use of resource and focus on both projects

Another german licensed personal trainer here! some input: Please start with standard pull- ups, as they tend to be more challenging for beginners, due to lesser mind muscle connection with the latissimus and lower traps . Also please start with band assisted pull ups , or in this case chin ups, as that allows you to more easily get that full range of motion, especially with the shoulder blades, which results in better lower trap development , aswell as overall better stimulus for the biceps. Also 60 seconds of rest for a beginner is way to short and will drastically decrease the quality of the repetitions in the follow up sets. I would advise at least 2-3 minutes of rest for beginners and then decrease the pause intervalls by 15 seconds , each week. You can superset it with the pushups if you get bored to pass the time efficiently in between sets. Training the biceps and the especially the finer grip muscles to failure 3 - 4 times a week can easily lead to fried nervous tissue and is WAY too much for a beginner. Not to mention, that the tendon development cant be rushed due to poor capillary bloodflow within connective tissues. In this case less is more. Maximal recoverable training volume ( as coined by Dr. Mike israetel) is individual and needs to be taken into account. So , do the following: -If you dont know how many reps to perform, always leave at least 1-2 reps in the tank , and only go to failure on the last sets. This means an RiR ( reps in reserve ) of 1-2 . -Plan your next workout according to the level of soreness you received from your last workout , to maximize on the principle of supercompensation ( the moment your body has compensated for the stress of your last session , has build up additional muscle mass and nervous tissue and is hence in a state where you have more work capacity than the last time you trained) Generally speaking , soreness of 2-3 days is "optimal" , 1 day of soreness means the session wasnt intense enough , and soreness longer than 4 days results from sessions that were too intense. -If you feel overly tired , make sure you get your proteins in with plenty of water , around 0.8g of protein per cm in height tends to work. Also if you have access to a heartrate monitor , like a smartwatch, then check if your resting heartrate increases over time , if it does, get some rest and only do light exercises for a week, otherwise you will overtrain and it can lead to serious medical issues. Also , i would strongly urge to program in some proper side lateral raises with dumbbells , as one needs to train the medial delts for that typical "capped" shoulder look that cloud has going on.
@lemming77gode3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input! So if understand correctly, I would start working out roughly every 3 days, ideally after the soreness from the last workout?
@activia933 жыл бұрын
Such a good post! I would also recommend some face pulls with a light rubber band to counteract the internal rotation of the shoulders caused by the constant pulling and pushing exercises, remember also to stretch those lats! If you can also get some light-medium deadlifts in that would be amazing for the posture! You can see from most pictures of Cloud posing that he has the glute activation cranked up to eleven !
@snakeace03 жыл бұрын
@@lemming77gode Yes, i would never recommend to train a muscle that is still sore. People on steroids have way faster recovery , and its the reason why they can crank out so much volume, sadly the younger beginners tend to think thats normal and dont recover nearly as much as they should , essentially manipulating their own progress. Scientifically speaking its still not 100% clear wether soreness is a product of micro tears of the actual muscle fibres or wether its related to the fascia ( the connective tissue surrounding the muscle). Either way , only do light exercises for muscles that are sore, that will keep blood flowing and help with recovery. If you want to make sure your muscles get enough stimulus, the rule of thumb is around 10-20 effective working sets per muscle per week. A beginner would aim for 10, and an advanced lifter would aim for 15-20.
@snakeace03 жыл бұрын
@@activia93 Thanks! , and yes , facepulls are the best prehab exercise one could do. If someone doesnt have a band , you could use an old bed sheet , make a strong knot in the middle , pass the other two loose ends over the top of a door (towards the non opening side!)and close the door. the knot on the end will prevent it from sliding back , and the other 2 ends will allow for bodyweight pull ups when both feet are close to the door. Also when stretching the lats, dont forget to grab the bar or whatever you are holding on with a supinated grip. People tend to forget that the lats are internal rotators aswell. If one has access to a rack and a barbell, then i would advice to do the big 3 ( squat, bench, deadlift) plus bendover rows and the overhead press, those 5 alone , build just about everything most people would ever need.
@efryestellaire40353 жыл бұрын
A quick google search gave me several results claiming that band assisted pull ups should always be avoided. As always with these kind of topics, it's impossible to determine which side of the argument is correct, but there are some good arguments being made why doing band assisted pull ups is a bad idea.
