Love this interview. Travis Bagent is the greatest trash talker in arm wrestling history. Plus what he said is absolutely true about Devon and Michael Todd dodging tournaments. I like Devon but it is true. Also funny how the Wal is posting all of these videos of people pulling in the 2016 finals but not even one video of Travis. It’s ridiculous because Travis absolutely dominated that tournament with both arms. And was entertaining while he did it

Yes, Devon really didn't win a single high profile tournament. No arnolds, no moldova, no europeans, no worlds, no Zloty. But those tournaments are where the best arm wrestlers collide. Brzenk, Cyplenkov, Chaffee, Levan, Laletin, Trubin, Prudnik, Kostadinov, Kvikvinia, Liliev... they all competed there. Devon was nowhere to be seen. He avoided those tournaments with world class competition throughout his whole career. Devon never went to Zloty. Bagent, Todd, Cadorette, Bresnan, Hutchings, Barboza.. they all competed at Zloty. Devon however never went there and I think that says a lot. 1:08:05 btw. what are your thoughts on that Alex? I think Travis is spot on with what he said about the WAL.

I’ll try to keep my comment as short as possible cause it’s a big issue this ..basically I’ll only give one example (but there are more) I know you like Geoff Hale right..? He’s ok and a very good armwrestler no doubt. However...even if we forget the fact he competed at 2019 WAF Worlds and hardly ranked 5th and 8th ?(if I remember correctly- can’t be much wrong tho) Let’s focus only in North America .. Roman Gromov always wins him Rh .. How is it even possible Geoff being a “champion” with a guy his weight out there steamrolling him ? There are many other NA pullers I respect very few are aware of , like Jeremy Pappy etc who when motivated can do wonders but it’s not the point.

Can't say I fully agree with Travis' assessment of Devon. Devon doesn't pull tournaments because he went the route of a prize figher: fighting matches against one guy on a fight card built like a Pay-Per-View. He's built for 1-on-1 supermatches, and that's what he trains for. Some guys are built for that explosive quick-pin, one after the other, and some guys are built for a war. It's a different kind of strength, and a different kind of stamina. Just like there are sprinters and marathon runners; very different skill set.

I used to not like Travis when I was younger but now I have so much respect for him. The guy is honest, entertaining, and respectful when he has to be. His passion is not to be the best in the world, his passion is to make money and he ain't hiding it like some. He's not gonna go down as one of the greats but believe me I rather watch him pull his grandma than Todd pull whoever. Lol the most exciting CrossFit matches were when he was announcing!! Reason Devon didn't do alot of tournaments he was in in the Canadian Special Forces you have to understand he did 7 tours of duty in Afghanistan each tour is 6 to 12 months each and got wounded in action too and did seven tours of them during his prime years and arm wrestle when you did see him around that time he was on leave! and a lot of that time he just came right back in arm wrestling when he was not doing tour of duty. and I can't remember the exact time it was but he didn't get out of the military until what 2016 to give or take a little bit. that's why Travis didn't see him at many tournaments! all I'm saying to have the career Devon had at the same time doing 7 tours of Duty in Afghanistan and is pretty amazing! do you think Travis if he was in the Special Forces and did 7 tours of Duty and got wound he would have been at all those tournaments!? No! He would not been arm wrestling at all possible!

The contracts is the problem! The destroyer of so many sports. If no armwrestler sign any of these contracts of control then this bullshit would not happen, so i think Travis Bagent doing the right thing in that regard, but the other problem is when only the money is important, wich i can understand in this case when the wal and others make it so difficult for any ranking to make sense. so who`s in the wrong the guys demanding the contract or the guy taking it, whats missing is leadership.
