Common Mistakes "Challenging RVJ in a bar after I've had too many beers"
@remymartin81853 жыл бұрын
This was the perfect thing I needed to hear. Got caught doing that exact thing last practice, trying to lat drag out and pinning myself. This is exactly the content you should be doing; table technique.

At 4 minutes RVJ talks about pulling your arm back and you end up lowering your hand at the same time so I did the same thing 2 times at Wednesday night practice and now that I see him doing it and talking about it at the same time so many bells and whistles when off in my head like woow never going to do that again lol
@Hallowed_Ground3 жыл бұрын
@@richardjennex6583 There ARE times it's appropriate to lat drag, as RVJ says in this video, but most of the time people just basically pin themselves. Don't say "never doing that again" because everything has a time and place.

Hey champ! Just wanted to say something on the topic of workout videos. Sure, there are many channels already doing it, and the exercises may not be anything mind blowing other worldly or some completely new routine split, but it's not the point. As fans, we'd love to see some of your workouts anyway, not for sale of copying your workouts (as you say, one size fits all doesn't exist) but for the sake of seeing you do some lifting. Like, no need for full workouts, just part would be good enough too for a change once in a while. Stay strong and happy 💪

Absolutely agree about not dragging while on defense. The more your hand is away from your elbow, so much easier for someone to attack it. It's natural to want to drag and get your elbow close to your lat to tighten up, but like you said, if your hand isnt coming with you, dig back in.

Yep the only reason to lat drag back is to put more pressure into their hand to try to peel it open. If you can't do it don't drag back just stick and hold. Or shove forward and rise!

In my mind, if youre in a defensive position because their sidepressure is too much, dragging reduces their sidepressure as it opens their angle up. Now ofc that only happens if the macth moves closer to you, so as you extend your shoulder(drag with your back), your arm angle cant open up so much that your hand stays horizontally in the same spot in space. But, if it opens up a little(and you get closer to the pin pad) but youre still getting a net advantage in terms of back pressure then that might be the only way to stop the match, even if that happens closer to the pinpad. Moving forward in a defensive hook probably only works if youre biceps are as freakishly strong as yours. But if their sidepressure is just too much, and you lost your pronation, what else can you do besides backpressure to fuck with their sidepressure mechanics.

Mistake #1 = accepting a match with Bluezilla. I'm too big & too strong for Rob. With my SpaceX 🚀 trajectory and unlimited side pressure noboby can stop me. 😎 🇦🇺

This sounds like what larry wheels is doing in his game, besides the fact his wrist/hand isnt solid. He seems to have one movement in all positions. What do you think?
@T12J73 жыл бұрын
Here is a question: is there a muscle or an exercise which some arm wrestlers train which you think shouldn't be trained or there is no need to train? Like for example Devon says he doesn't train side pressure (even though he does his cupping from the side so he is indirectly training it) and Michael doesn't really train finger tips (even though he does table time which does train them) do you have some exercise or a muscle which you consider not worth training? And we are talking about arm wrestling muscles and exercises so I don't mean legs or the deadlift for example. Like some arm wrestlers even train the front shoulder with overhead pressing for example - which one of these things you personally don't do or don't consider worth doing regarding just arm wrestling?
@97mesut3 жыл бұрын
Toddzilla said he doesnt train for example hook. I think Devon also says he doesnt train hook.

Ryan Mosquito Bowen is legitimately scamming his own KZbin account with false reports to try to make his account banned so he can ditch the match with you, Rob! He admitted it on his Instagram saying, once his account is banned the match with you will be cancelled.
