Your analysis of the dispenser and teleporter are spot on. There’s a saying that teleporters win games, and on maps where spawn and the front lines are distant, bringing your teammates over much faster really is a huge game changer compared to one sentry. The dispenser is somewhat less critical because medic and health and ammo packs but it’s also a great support for the front lines.

0:35 four, actually. Offensive (soldier, demo, heavy, occasionally pyro), defensive (engineer, mostly), flank/ambush (scout, spy, pyro), and support (medic, sniper). Once you learn how the classes play and get a grasp of their strengths and weaknesses, it becomes fairly easy to categorize them. 2:09 there are exactly four classes that can use the shotgun. 14:13 not a lot. Engine is still broken as shit. 15:51 he's called SoundSmith because he used to make music, not because he's a sound engineer. Regardless, that's a fair point.

Only a soldier would call teleporters transporters, heh. Good video. Also this is one of Soundsmith's older videos, so that's why there isn't a whole lot of audio mixing. As for the basic music loop, it's a holdover from Hat Stereotypes, which was incredibly barebones, to the point where the footage was him just finding some funny place to do a taunt while wearing the hat. The whole time he was talking about said hat. You can really see how his work has improved as time went on.

Shotgun: Stock primary for Engineer. Frontier Justice: -3 shots in a clip, gives 2 crits for every sentry kill and 1 for every assist after your sentry gets destroyed (including being destroyed by Engineer himself). Widowmaker: Infinite clip, takes 30 metal per shot, gives metal based on damaged dealt in 1/1 ratio. No random crits. Rescue Ranger: Shoots bolts that heal your and friendly buildings, requires metal to heal; For 100 metal, can teleport any your building into your hands from any distance, but you need to have a direct sight (basically, you can teleport your buildings light years away, but can't do that, if there's anything in between, including glass and fence). Pomson 6000: Infinite ammo, -2 shots in a clip, shoots slow-moving projectiles that aside from dealing not a lot of damage, deal 5 times less damage to buildings, makes Medics lose 10% of uber and makes Spies lose 20% of cloak. Also, Pyro can't reflect these projectiles. No random crits. Pistol: Stock secondary for Engineer. Wrangler: Gives you manual control over your sentry gun, makes it 3 times more tanky, but it heals 3 times slower. The effects remain for 3 seconds when you put away your wrangler. Short Circuit: (You skipped it) Infinite clip, primary fire shoots an electrical bolt that costs 5 metal and destroys one projectile, secondary fire shoots a plasma ball that costs 65 metal and destroys every projectile near it. This weapon can't crit. At all. Wrench: (You skipped it) Stock melee for Engineer. Golden Wrench: Turns people into gold statues. Astronomically expensive. The Jag: Deals 25% less damage to players and 33% less damage to buildings, repairs buildings 20% slower, but swing 15% faster and builds buildings 30% faster. Southern Hospitality: You get 20% more damage from fire, every hit makes enemy bleed for 5 seconds which deals moderate damage and reveals disguised and invisible spies. No random crits. Eureka Effect: You get 20% less metal from dispensers and ammo boxes, builds buildings 50% slower, gives 50% discount when building and upgrading your teleport. You can use it to teleport to your spawn (if you have multiple spawns like in 2fort, it picks random every time) or your teleport exit, if you have one. You don't have to build an entrance to teleport to exit, making it good to teleport behind enemy lines. Gunslinger: You have 25 more health, if you hit an enemy successfully 2 times, third hit will be guarantee crit: You build a mini-sentry instead of a normal one, It costs 30 less metal, builds 2,5 times faster, turns 35% faster and has a smaller hitbox. No random crits. Construction PDA: You can use it to build your buildings. Destruction PDA: You can use it to destroy your buildings.

Trolling is indeed a playstyle, it's just that the objective of the troll isn't that intended by the game or desired by the team For example your team might want to capture the point, the troll on the other hand wants to make a teleport exit that faces a cliff and see how many people go in and walk off to their death.... The team is playing "Capture the point", the troll is playing "Watch the idiots"

I like using the Rescue Ranger and the Wrangler combo to launch my Engie up to difficult to reach places and set my sentry there, since the Rescue Ranger can recall your buildings for 100 metal each time, I can effectively do area denial that'll make it harder for even Demos and Spies to reach them, the two classes that are typically Engineer's weakness. My only greatest weakness is an enemy Medic's Ubercharge push with either a regular Medigun, or his Kritzkrieg. I also use The Eureka Effect wrench as a means to create an exit that cannot be tracked by sound as teleporters usually give off a very distinct noise. This makes it easier for me to sneak behind flank zones undetected to use my sentry right as they leave their spawn. As you can imagine, this makes a lot of people angry.

Specifically, the Frontier Justice gets crits based on the kill count of your sentry when it gets destroyed. Also, sentry kills give 2 crits while sentry assists give only 1.

I think it would be useful to the Team as a whole to place Dispensers just behind hard cover near the active fighting zone itself. When Teammates retreat for health & ammo they don't have to go far. Having a Teleporter not too far behind the Dispenser in case they need to get to another Teleporter close to main base for arguably unlimited supply & health then get back to the fight quickly, even if they were on the verge of death went they left. Of course, the best cover for both is hard cover, so that enemy Team has to go around the obstacle to reach those buildings. Then a level 2 Sentry with hard cover but still pointed & their approach-paths to protect your other buildings (level 3 if you can exploit it's taller profile over a short enough ledge) guards the areas around those other buildings. A few level 1 Sentries tactically peppered here & there to keep the enemy Team harassed & off-guard might not hurt...you, at least. Hard cover for the essential Team-based buildings, cover *fire* so they have time to use them...

Sentry guns are used to protect the backline, yes teleporters and dispensers are more important but the sentry is largely used to keep those buildings alive. A second thing Sentry Guns should be used for is area denial, pretty much keeping scouts and soldiers from flanking your team. The engineer himself should be watching for spies and communicating with his team about what they see.
