So the midfight is actually the start of the round. On maps with 5 control points, each team starts with 2 control points and one uncaptured one in the middle. The midfight is that fight in the center of the map. It's also the beginning fight on king of the hill maps.

Okay two moments: - in the end of MGS3 you fight in the field of white flowers (Star of Bethelheim if I remember it right). Red flower petals and the whole field becoming red after Boss dies is representation of Big Boss's mental breakdown and feelings of guilt. In reality petals ALWAYS were white and we can see it as Big Boss catches one while boarding the plane and it turns back to white. - "Ultimate Life Form" and the whole dialogue "You're faker!" - is the reference to introduced in "Sonic Adventure 2" Shadow The Hedgehog character, famous for his full of pride and edgy lone wolf attitude, Anti-Vilain/Heroic rival to Sonic (basically Vegeta of Sonic Franchise) . "Ultimate Life Form" comes from Shadow being artificially made in a lab to be one (unlike Sonic who is supposedly naturally born - storywise hilariously Shadow was actually made a few decades before Sonic was even born but was left in cryostasis by government for 50 years). Also the joke "I can have 3 HP left and still carry the game to the finish line" cane be considered a reference for Shadow's famous propensity to survive scenarios that left him almost dead and would've killed anyone else - like falling unconscious from space into Earth's atmosphere. "Chaos Control" references to Shadow's ability to stop time for a moment (which looks like teleportation to outsider). And the "You're faker!" dialogue is taken straight from Sonic Adventure 2 with all its narmy charm intact - government mistaking Sonic for Shadow and the latter pinning his crimes on Sonic was the plot point there and this dialogue happens when they finally meet eye to eye.

Little context as to what a mid-fight is. It’s a term in Tf2’s game mode, Control Point/5cp. A mid fight is where both teams roll out to the middle of the map and have a huge fight for who gets the first control point. You also see the term used whenever the team rolls out to the middle of the map in general

That fish in a newspaper Scout was using was the Holy Mackerel, a semi joke weapon that displays how many times you hit someone with it and when you kill the poor unfortunate soul who get sharp scales to the face. Despite the meme status of this “useless” stat, it’s actually quite good at catching dead ringer spies as it won’t show that you killed them and instead add to the hit counter. Pyro has a similar weapon which is literally just a hot glove that you slap people silly with.

I don't belive they're called cherry blossoms (in MGS3), I think those are regular trees, but the pellets that fly around are the Stars of Bethleiem, the white flowers you see around the field, and for some reason after you shoot The Boss, they turn red.

TLDR of the " Mid fight" its a term used in King of the hill or Control Ppoint maps and it refers to the 1st encounter both teams have at the start of the game. wining this fight will generally mean the winning team can capture the mid point and set the momentum of the game(mostly because the losing team loses uber advantage.) for the next few minutes while the losing side needs ot wait out respawns and re organize.

Here the terms early fight is before either team is committing to a fight or usually is poking phase. mid fight is when both teams are fully engaged and casualties happen end fight is one team has numbers advantage and is cleaning up straglers
