Spamton is a character from the second chapter of the game "Deltarune" who's associated with the year 1997 and is a literal puppet to fate that wants to be free. His main gimmick is talking in brackets, scamming, and "[pipis]" which is some kind of egg. Also he wants "Kromer" which is a sort of parody money. He was also the secret boss of this chapter, with the 1st chapter's boss being a jester/devil.

Spamton is a character from the indie RPG game "Deltarune" made by Toby Fox, who created another beloved indie RPG game called Undertale back in 2015 In the simplest terms I can think of, he's a salesman who got screwed over by his partner turning him from a "BIG SHOT" to a homeless guy living in a garbage can The Spamton Sweepstakes was a charity event to celebrate the one year anniversary of Deltarune Chapter 2s release date and had a whole ARG thing behind it that won't make sense if you haven't played the game

This was ran by the site Fangamer and Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale/Deltarune. They raised well over $500k for charity and this analog fever dream was the culmination of it all. All the "Wild Prizes" are real, and were raffled off to actual people. Sadly, I was not one of them...

To avoid spoilers in case you want to experience deltarune , spamton is a side character in the second chapter, he speaks in broken English with occasional brakets containing words associated with his sentence ex: hey every, its me everyone's favorite [1997 ] spamton g spamton " - spamton upon first being introduced . He has become a major meme in the community because of his weird speech pattern , unhinged personality and other more darker aspects you learn about should you follow his side quest . He's also essentially the personification of a spam scam email (it makes more sense in context )

So the person who played Spamton A. Spamton in this was WayneRadioTV. Him and his group of friends are kind of known for doing weird, unhinged stuff so playing a character that is as weird and unhinged as Spamton from Deltarune really fits. Also, the 3D environment, if I'm remembering correctly, was made in the game gmod. It's a game that uses the Source engine, practically unchanged, which is the same engine that was used in Half-Life 2, which released in late 2004, so it does _technically_ fit a late 90s - early 2000s aesthetic. Honestly it was probably cheaper for this independent group without a huge amount of funding to use a green screen and gmod than it was for them to try and put together a physical set to more closely approximate the feel of 90s shopping shows.

Spammton, full name, Spammton G Spammton, (according to him), is a salesman who used to work in a place called, Cyber City. I am not sure what exactly he used to sell before his sales went under. He was having trouble making money, (witch he calls Kromer), and in order to get back into business, he one day got a call with a mysterious stranger over the phone. And so, this mysterious stranger had helped him makes sales for a good while, but, after a heated argument between the two, the mysterious stranger and him didn't speak again. Something that stranger said must have made him go a little crazy, because after that, he became, corrupted in the computer corruption kinda seince. (It's a little hard for me to explain that bit), what you mainly need to know about him, is that he speaks like adds are constantly interrupting his speech, while also kinda acting as his speech from time to time. Kinda like how Bumblebee talks in Transformers. He lives in a garbage can because he was thrown out of his home, and he was abandoned by those who were once his friends. It's a long story. One you should play. Deltarune is the game where he comes from, and he is a sorta secrit boss you can fight if you're interested. But apart from that, I just think it's a good, quarky game that isn't quite finished yet. But not in the buggy kinda sense, more so in the, needs more time to devolip the rest of itself, sorta way.

The things that are wrong with the opening screen is I think intentional since Spamton is like a fantasy sci-fi worlds version of a computer virus. He’s from deltarune. Basically the games story is about the ‘real world’ and ‘dark world’ the dark world just refers to a place made from magic technically everything in that setting is based off of something in the ‘Real world’ like a virus becoming a con artist. Sorry; Spamton specifically references Spam email containing a virus. Spamton is also a creepy character in the game so all this is weirdly in character.

The "star registry" thing reminded me of this: When I was a kid, I think my parents got me one of those "own a square foot of the north pole" things. But as an adult, I realize that the concept of ownership only exists as far as it's willing to be enforced, so I could totally just edit together my own version of one of those and give it to MY future kids, and they'll have no idea that I just made the whole thing up! Spamton is basically a living ventriliquist dummy(more accurately he is a robot who happens to look like a ventriloquist dummy) who became a [BIG SHOT] because he got financial advice from Dr. WD Gaster(Sanses mad scientist dad who might have been an amalgamate which is a monster that became immortal through the use of DT but as a side effect they are horribly disfigured and every second of their life is agony) in 1997 don't ask me how he understood Gaster despite not speaking the same language I do not know... basically after he stopped getting advice his life quickly went downhill he is in Deltarune which is basically an official undertale AU(undertale being Gasters original universe) you should play deltarune if you are unbothered by episodic releases
