I retired after 21 years in the Army as an Infantryman. I spent most of my spare time in the gym or running miles and miles making my body harder. Making my body tougher. But I never paid attention to making my mind harder. Making my mind harder. I was arrogant and disrespectful. Looked down on those that I thought were weaker than me. It wasn't until I decided to start practicing MMA. And no matter how much stronger or tougher I was, I would lose. And then one day my coach took me aside and gave me a speech, much like this speech, then I started to truly learn. That was 14 years ago. And to this day, I want to say thank you. Thank you Matt Hume. Thank you for making me a better person

This will undoubtedly seem corny, but: _thank_ you for being you, man. You're a genuinely good person. Change from within is the most potent form of change there is. A hell of a lot of people don't have the strength to do what you did, to really scrutinise themselves, to stop presuming they're right and everybody else is wrong, to question their beliefs and examine how and why they came to hold these beliefs. Having that kind of insight can be a real source of strength. Keep on keeping on my man 🙏🏼

Uplifting message for the difficult times we are currently in. However, there were not only Jewish people in the extermination camps, all people considered "non-Arian" including the minorites, the Slavic people, etc. suffered the same fate, something that needs to be mentioned too. It all boils down to the fact that a collective mind needs an enemy to fight and it is a primitive instinct in humans.
@jb94103
@jb94103 7 ай бұрын
As a Jewish person, I am actually very glad you mentioned this. You are correct! 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust and 6-8 million non-Jews also were killed. This is very important, because it shows how hate is ALWAYS a slippery slope that never stops with one group. Hitler focused on mass-extermination of the Jews but by the time the Holocaust was in full swing, it was so easy to throw so many other minorities into the mix. For that, we must ALWAYS be vigilant when hateful politicians attack one group. Because make no mistake, they will NEVER stop there! The black hole of death never stops for these monsters.
@Lili-is4xf
@Lili-is4xf 6 ай бұрын
@@jb94103 That is so very true and thank you for the insightful comment. Once the hate starts they will even purge their own. People have more in common than their individual differences so the hate always needs to be stopped. Thank you for the comment.❤

A powerful statement, but it must be said that while the increase in hate (hate speech, hate crimes etc) are a real danger, there is something even more pervasive and dangerous and that is indifference/denial and apathy. More dangerous because they are not so obviously associated with hate. The key is to pause and question ones certainties long enough to be willing to listen to those you disagree. This act alone reconnects you with true strength.
@dakidd729

The problem is, there is no increase in hate crimes. There is only the increase in people claiming there is an increase in hate crimes. I hope you do understand that this video is telling us that disagreeing with a certain religion is a no no under any circumstance, and its also a veiled warning to those who look for or speak the truth and stray from the instilled narrative.

Arnold was a great bodybuilder but I’ve never liked him as a person. If you pay attention to his takes and comments on all things, he’s generally always very loyal to the system. This is because the system has taken care of him personally, it’s given to him a life of great wealth and fame, and so he sees no reason to go against it -regardless of how corrupt it may have become and of how cruel it may be to his less privileged colleagues and countrymen. He’s an egocentric, selfish personality, he’s always lived that way and he’ll die that way too; congratulated by the elites he served, despised by the nation he betrayed.

That doesn’t, however, mean that what they did acceptable. @Preston_Smith

It was where they persecuted our church they made false accusations, really they were just jealous that the church moved in and that was really short of a really Prejudice slave owning State at the time. And we were the Lord's Church so that didn't mix together very well. Of course we are supposed to learn from that experience. And they killed the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother like a bunch of cowards. Anyway they went and they shot a bunch of members of our church and persecuted them with a mob and in the Missouri governor did the weak and cowardly and stupid thing and he blamed for the church. He said that no one likes the church while it's the church's fault and they are to be treated as enemies and driven from the state to or exterminated. That was probably the weakest governor in the history of our country

However in all honesty the church or people in the church probably did some things to make some people mad they probably screwed some people over somehow. I'm not going to pretend that I think the church is 100% innocent because they've actually done some things to me that were pretty messed up and falsely accused me of some things so I'm actually looking at the situation now I'm thinking maybe they weren't so innocent however that doesn't justify with the Missouri governor did either Of course I'm not perfect and I tend to get pretty upset at people when they falsely accuse me of things and they harass me and I tend to fight back maybe I can handle that better however that doesn't change what they did with their false accusations and the things they did to me so either way if they cared about the truth they would ask clarifying questions and they did not they in fact said things that were not true in order to dehumanize me so that he could dispose of me like garbage and forces will on me. There's a big difference. So yeah I tend to fight back when people do that so actually no I don't think I did anything wrong they did though and they pretty much screwed up my life

@Arnold Schwarzenegger I was deep down in the path of hate and it almost destroyed me. I ended up with depression, burnout and alcohol abuse. 2023 was the year for me when i did my course correction. Been detoxing, working out at the gym, eating clean. All the sudden my extremist views started to fade and now i identify as a moderate centrist center-right , and i´m ruled by logic and not fear. Russias invasion of Ukraine in 2022 was a wakeup call for me. Everyone in my country was so terrified that we ended up joining the largest defense alliance in history after 200 years of neutrality. I understood how dangerous this movement really is and what it leads to. This video really touched me when i first watched it. I cried for the first time since 2011 when my father passed away. I grew up with Arnie movies and i didnt realise in my adult years that he almost acts as a father figure for me now. Bless everyone and live a good life

Arnold's love and concern for humankind really comes across here. It's true what he warns here. That the win / lose relationship strategy never has a healthy endgame.

This is a beneficial conversation. The only contribution I have to offer is the knowledge that taking the path of growth through understanding and improvement is its own reward. In that sense it is actually very easy, because it has the potential energy of yourself existing as the momentum that moves you forward. But yes, I do suppose finding and getting going with that outlook and trajectory can be challenging. Hatred and fear are two sides of the same weight that pulls you down. They are always realized through conflict regardless of intent, because that is all they know, but you can let them go. There are more important things in life and better weights to carry. Good luck. 👍
