I’m currently reading his autobiography, Total Recall, which explains how he found it very difficult to learn the English language. Once he was in a restaurant with a friend and asked the waiter to bring him the restaurant’s best garbage. The waiter could easily be forgiven for taking offence, but was soon placated when Arnold’s friend explained that he actually meant to say cabbage! He obviously got to grips with the language, and his overall success can only be attributed to the fact that he was willing and able to work very hard at everything he put his mind (and body) to. You don’t begrudge people success if they work hard for it.
