Arnold was a hand-picked person to become governor. He was great friends with Ken Lay of enron. Enron had bilked the state of California of a huge amount of money. California debt was in the red for about the same amount of money Enron had stolen from California. Arnold was put into the governor's mansion to make sure that Enron only had to pay pennies on the dollar. The taxpayers of California paid the rest. So I don't think he's such a good guy. I'm glad he's doing this but overall he harmed a lot of people with his neoliberal financial policies and outright theft.

I remember reading something Arnold said about growing up in post-WWII Germany, about how he saw how broken people were about being so desperate to believe in the wrong ideology. I obviously had never been taught in my American schooling about the aftermath of those German soldiers who had to live with the fact they were wrong. It made me think about how as we, as Americans, believe in certain things that hurt others. Overall, it just made me think.
