Rocks, sorry I didn't watch your vid from yesterday, I had to go to 2 different Dr.'s yesterday and the day prior. I sure love the Points you found. I have a few good spots, as I live on the lake with access to creeks and the Cumberland River. I pray that my back settles down so I can go this season. Thanks for schooling us on how you find the beauties you've found; I always appreciate you for your kindness. It's wonderful that you have a new companion, watching them play and grow is a blessing from God. Sorry so long, I missed you, so I got up early to watch your video. You and yours have a great and safe 4th, and I'll see you next time. Much love.

Got out of work early today so I thought I would catch up on your videos. Cool stuff man. Love seeing all the material and points and hematite and nutting stones. I looked out my window one night last summer and there was a little orange kitten in my backyard. Now he is sleeping in front of my fan right now . He's a cool little dude.

I had a hunch that big hematite piece made its way back to the roost! Haha those big broken cobbles are also in the style of oldawan chopper/hand axe. Could be used for felling trees, breaking through ice. I believe them to be amazing artifacts because theyre often also effigy stones or portable rock art. Many of these will balance on their knife’s edge.

yea...I take all of it man. Sometimes i forget stuff in piles on the bank....but it comes home. I need it for future videos possibly and discussions on stones...LOL

at 1:07 some of those are hand choppers for bisecting large game like Mastadons and giant elk and bison and the like
@rockscousteau
@rockscousteau 5 күн бұрын
yea....a few of them were 100% hand choppers. But a few I dug in there are just randomly chipped. I have a pile of stones that have been percussion chipped like that.....all from right there. it is odd.

Is hematite natural to the Ohio valley or did the natives trade for it? I know that up here in Ontario, clay for pottery was traded for white fish.
@rockscousteau
@rockscousteau 6 күн бұрын
it is natural. I know where there are creeks with pieces the size of a watermelon down to small pebbles of it. Some places it is laying everywhere
