Ahhhhh your art is gorgeous as usual!! And to comment on your lil chisel blab (if you don't mind) I think brush tips are held to such a high standard nowadays and it's led to believe the chisel tip is bad. When I first started out with alcohol markers I absolutely avoided the chisel tip like the black plague because of the wild misinformation surrounding it. But one day my poor lil brush started to separate (Artist Lost curse it) and I discovered it was actually my best friend. While the brush is really nice to have I think the chisel tip can be your bff even moreso than the brush depending on the technique and usage..

Also(this is my third comment woops) but those markers are awesome! I don't know if it's the marker paper but there is like NO speckling at all with those markers in contrast to like copics or something. It gives it a really clean digital effect. And I'm with you! I love the bullet nib and the chisel nib! The brush nibs are nice but a bit overrated a lot of the time.
@lela.the.artist5 жыл бұрын
Lol no problem!! As far as speckling there is a bit of speckling! It's possible my camera didn't pick it up. I just wanted to make sure you knew on the chance that you bought them and expected no speckling. I haven't encountered an alcohol marker yet that doesn't speckle, although I have seen Baylee Jae's review on the winsor and newton alcohol markers and she compared them to copics and showed how there was absolutely no speckling. So I definitely do want to try those markers out!

@@lela.the.artist Yeah definitely. I still treat my markers somewhat poor fashionedly as I usually just use them to colour in the India ink architectural sketches I do for my studies ( and those actually just with a mix of cheap markers from Action, Tiger and Sostrene Greene, as coming up with an actual building design entails a HUGE amount of sketches) ^^' For those artworks/doodles/whatever I do in my spare time (and to be honest I haven't had quite as much time for that while studying as I wanted to) I use ink+watercolour, acrylics or plain and simple pencil, but would definitely want to try doing more with my markers, especially since I already got so many (that female=gatherer-cliché just really fits me all too well, I LOVE buying art supplies, especially when I just had a bad day ^^')

Can you tell me what paper you used?
@cyberellawho8765 жыл бұрын
@@lela.the.artist 130gsm white cartiage
@lela.the.artist5 жыл бұрын
Hmm, so I'm not 100% sure if it's the paper causing you this bleeding issue, but it might be. The only two types of marker paper I use, are "X-press It" blending cards which are 250gsm and Strathmore Marker paper which are 190gsm. However I would personally recommend "X-press it" for final art pieces. I also tend to make thicker than usual outline when inking. Especially when inking digitally, to print out. There are pros and cons to that. Pro being if there's bleeding it generally can't be seen because of how thick the line is, con being there may be a higher probability that the black ink lines may smear when coloring. (This is a common thing that happens even with marker like Copic. It generally means you need to wait longer for lineart to dry, or be careful around thicker lines that may smear.) Beyond that, I don't experience bleeding often, and I feel confident that it has to do with the paper I use.
@cyberellawho8765 жыл бұрын
@@lela.the.artist thanks i experiment with higher gsm papers. be a change from using watercolours

I have been buying and using art supplies for years and I think it's very true, like most accomplished artists say, that it is not a good thing for beginners to use cheap materials. The reason is they don't get good results and it can be discouraging. Watercolors and paper especially apply here....cheap paper and cheap watercolors will discourage beginner because the paints will be weak and not flow well on the paper. Better to buy a limited number of any products...6 basic good quality watercolors are better than a supply of 100 cheap colors.
