Even if we just Adams and Keown back in our defence, we'd be so, so much better. Add Henry, Parlour, Ljungberg, Kanu, Pires, Dixon, Bergkamp, Lauren and Manninger and I'd really be so, so bloody happy. C'est la vie...

Henry's goal was an absolute peach. Is there anything this guy could not do. And Arsenal back then were like a Rolls Royce when they got going, probably the most exciting team to watch in PL history.

That team would wipe the floor with any team in the EPL today .I wud bet they beat the leaders Liverppol head to head.

A Great Arsenal performance
@xmoroseguyx4 жыл бұрын
I would not say a great performance even given the 5 - 0 Win, It was a business like performance, The goals were not great, Tony Adams under no pressure just lifts the ball from near the halfway line to the edge of the Newcastle penalty area, Defender goes too tight and is turned fairly easy for the first goal, The Newcastle player collects the ball in plenty of space in the middle of the pitch, And just dwells on the balls and all but give Freddy Ljunberg the ball leading to the second goal, Keron Dyer could not control the ball all game if he sat on it, Warren Barton hitting a drive from 50 meters out ! ?

As a child I didn't understand how important Tony Adams was for the club, our one true captain! As for Parlour.. I see a lot of praise in the comment section. Yes he did shine from time to time but all in all he was average. He was more of a backup player than anything else.
@SpawnofChaos20108 ай бұрын
LMAO. That Kanu isn't anywhere near Arsenal's best player of all time speaks volumes of the club's richness through time. An outstanding player by any metric but there's half a dozen or more absolute legends on the very same pitch in the very same game! Premier League titles will come Arsenal's way again but its a UCL trophy I'd love to see us lift above all else. Google bless the Mighty Arsenal!

Breathtaking football from Arsenal .Arguably the best team in those days in Europe. Together with the Ajax of Louis v Gaal and AC Milan with the Dutch supertrio . And it was much more manly than that circus from nowadays. Defenders with their arms behind their backs. Nozzle about 1.5 mm offside . Debates between 200 referees that keep the world waiting . OK, the tricks are brilliant but defenders can not do much about it . For are not allowed to touch anybody anywhere . All they can do is react to what their opponent is going to try. But little tugs to put players off balance ? Nope , not allowed , a kind hug to do the same , forgettaboutit. Give me this football here anytime . Football meant for me. ,not those living mannequins of nowadays.

What a team!!!!!!! I would give anything to bring back a Arsenal like that now but we all know that ait Gonna happen. The rivalry against Man United and Liverpool and to win so intense that’s football there’s no excitement and fun nowadays players with no characters. boring. It breaks my heart!!! Football will never be the same I used to play eat and sleep football back in the late 90s. Money rules the world know say no more player are tooooo lazy don’t give a shit about the club only there bank balance with no passion.🙁🙁🙁

I'm a Liverpool fan, Highbury was indeed a difficult away fixture for any opponents, the fans were more passionate and closer to the pitch back then, it was Gunners fortress. Emirates doesn't seem to have the same effect.

'At Highbury' not 'in'. I'm guessing your not that sharp. Maybe give the comments section a swerve.
