Amazing class Swamiji, so important to remind ourselves of all this values to be cultivated. Emotional intelligence is imperative on our spiritual journey. So is persistent equanimity. I am passing through some hard patch atm regarding my business and at times I am almost happy that I am tested in this way as it is a great opportunity to spiritually grow so to say. First time in my life I flipped the negative to positive, and am just so grateful for God's grace. I feel blessed at all times, even when my mind try to convince me otherwise. Thank you so much. Om Shanti! 🙏

It is a misunderstanding that Mr. Spock is devoid of emotions. Mr. Spock has emotions, strong emotions, but he chooses to keep them at bay in the Vulcan way to tame them to control them. But eventually he comes to embrace his human side and finds a middle ground for both emotions and logic to be complementary to each other. Such a fine balance discovered within.

Your argument concerning the character of a fictional being is similar to the argument arguing the character of the illusory snake. What’s the point,I suspect their is none.

Om Shanti Swamiji 🙏 I had one question about karma and karma phala. I understand that past life bad karma can influence our this life.. But when we see very small children ...some of them say who are just a few months old who have no capacity to understand life and other divine knowledge. If they are diagnosed with some terminal life threatening disease....how it can be fair ? If we adult people are diagnosed we can understand that we had some past bad karma and we may take good path in life. But what about little children who do not have any ability to grasp even basic of the life concepts let alone be karma, dharma, soul and brahma? Small children will never be able to know the reason behind their miseries...so isn't this unfair?

The 20 values proposed by Bhagavān Kruśṇa as prerequisites [preparedness] for Brahmajnāna [Self-knowledge], seems to be the by-products of Brahmajnāna [Ātma Jnāna]. If anyone possesses these 20 values prior to Brahmajnāna, where is the necessity for Brahmajnāna, as Brahmajnāna itself is not different from these values. Unless we posses these 20 values as prerequisites, there is no Brahmajnāna: there can't be these 20 values unless we posses Brahmajnāna. Is Brahmajnāna, a by-product of these values or are these values, the by-products of Brahmajnāna? Which comes first in this spiritual puzzle?

Interesting question to which I venture my lay person opinion for what it is worth. First, as I understand it, the 20 values enumerated by Sri Krishna are not his “proposals”, rather they are declarations of the Vedic shastras being taught by Sri Krishna as implied by the use of the term “proktam” in verse 13.12. Second, as I see it, a person who knows what these 20 values are and believes that they possess them is not a Brahma-jnani. I posit that a Brahma-jnani is a person who knows that these 20 values are expressions of Ishvara’s nature through them and hence none of these values belong to the person the Brahma-jnani appears as. Hence, a Brahma-jnani would know that a value such as humility that others attribute to the Brahma-jnani does not really belong to the Brahma-jnani but rather what is seen as humility by others is just a manifestation of Ishvara’s nature through the Brahma-jnani. So, it seems to me that Sri Krishna is telling us that we must stop doing that which is opposed to any of these 20 values. The implication is that when we stop our ignorance-based doing, which militates against our nature as Ishvara, we start being Ishvara that we timelessly are.

Guruji with due respect, I feel you stand corrected on the issue of children (in Gita Fold) selecting their own spouse against parents’ consent….Maybe you are influenced with western way of life and thinking…. …. Gita advocates that we don’t have strong likes /dislikes and we need to self-check if, with or without (WOW), I am the same person .. It should NOT be Desire Driven BUT Duty Driven- without any anxiety … Craving for 3 type of sensory pleasure Food, Sleep & Sex is Animal quality. Bonding in marriage is the result of the fruition of past actions. The effort of the present merely makes the result available…The Grace of the Lord automatically arranges for the contact with a suitable Bride or Groom…. We need to ensure both families are Pure Vegetarians and are abstaining from Smoking & Drinking … If there are conflicts and acrimony within the Family, children will believe that safeguarding their individual interest is the only aim of life ….Marriage is not for just pleasure, but sacred yagya to refine the inner being.
