So wise for such a young person! Your commitment to your art and to yourself is truly admirable. I am 73 and have always longed to make art & be more creative. Sadly, I didn’t dare and was never encouraged. Now I’m retired, so it’s my time to explore new things. Finding your videos has given me a way to begin. Your art is so delightful and to watch you make it just makes me want to join in. What I appreciate most, though, is that I get to watch you practicing, studying, learning, growing. I can’t tell you how encouraging that is! So, long story short, I’m going to follow your example and commit to at least 15 minutes of art practice every! single! day! for the next year! I just hope that everyone who sees this video makes their own commitment - please don’t wait till you retire!

Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt experience of encouraging your artistic side to blossom! For 20 years I have dabbled in a few art medias: watercolor, acrylic and drawing. But these past two years I have been pulled fully into my art practice. Every morning i wake at 6 (without an alarm) and do art for 2 hours. It’s amazing and so fulfilling How putting dedicated time to a passion can have such positive effects. It’s wonderful I’ve learned this at 78. Its a real life saver❣️

Hi, Krista. I was actually drawing while playing this video. My goal for the new year is to get in the habit of drawing everyday for at least 10-15 minutes. And I also want to start painting with acrylics. I have paints and canvases that I purchased long ago that have been collecting dust. But after watching your videos, 2025 is the year to start getting out the brushes and do some painting. I thank you so much for encouraging and inspiring us to create art everyday. Good words. Sharing art....I play and practice quite a lot and because I have tons of watercolor paintings on 4x6's, I mail them to friends and family. They aren't perfect pieces, but everyone enjoys receiving my little fun creations. Daily practice is what I want to do too. Thanks for the encouragement Krista. Bless you.

I find drawing is a positive distraction for me. I have paper and pens/markers on both my tables so its always available. I do a lot of 3x3 grid art, just anything that brings me joy. Art instills n sometimes controversial , that means if u get negative comments u did u work as an artist . Because your art have stirred feelings in a viewer whether it’s positive or negative. Wonderful advice, from 0-105 art keeps you connected with your childhood imagination. Jesus said, lest you become like little children, you will not inherit the kingdom. Meaning to be childlike and trust in God with all things including your gifts, because your imagination is through him, for nothing is made without God. Including a painting, drawing or sketch. Next time you have an idea 💡, know that the source of that idea is speaking to you. Art is just an example of creation through thought. Just as God said, let there be light. @KristaIreneArt you're welcome, I've started doing scripture art, as I read a lovely uplifting word, I try to create that scripture as an art piece. It's amazing what comes of it, the art becomes the scripture. Speaking without words. I started with psalms and King Solomon, it's poetry in word and art and now my art developed into my art style. God works in mysterious and lovely ways.
