I was in the room and I can say without a doubt: this was one of the most affecting talks I've ever experienced. I cannot quite put my finger on why there were genuine tears in my eyes yet, but I'm sure with future study of the marxist theories behind what Alan is saying here, that I will. Bravo.

I'm in the middle of reading it, myself. it's a very elucidating read, especially if you have the opportunity to discuss it with other communists! (So many books to read, so little time....)
