Mister, you are so far one of the most inspiring and motivating art youtubers ive come across since i started drawing. You explained these fundamentals in a way even a dummy like myself can understand.
@Chrysonoe Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. Practice comes first. It's overwhelming when you start. Where should you start how do learn best. Even how to handle the learning process is something every artist has to find out for themselves. It's very helpful that you broke it down into the most important categories. Thank you for sharing the video. You mentioned a few things I noticed while practicing, so I'm happy I'm not alone :3

2:52 these are good art tips but i've got a tip for you, when your hatching a spherical object, whether hatching or cross hatching the lines should follow the form of the shape to imply dimension otherwise your sphere won't look like a sphere but a circle with a shadow

This was really helpful. For something considered more difficult, I find realism/photorealism easier to do than stylised art. So everytime I try to do "anime" style art, it looks uncanny because it comes out realistic and weird. 😂

For me I like drawing with mouse. It’s a personal preference that I use to create more casual art. Hell, you can still make good lines with it. As you can still use shoulder movement even with limited desk space. Even then, I’m not always focused on creating line weight variation in every drawing. I think it’s a common mistake to practice it without not knowing how to use it. Even then, linework will always be shafted under observation and perspective. As they’re far more important to master in the long term. Linework is like back posture, it’s something you can keep an eye out for and practice to do better. But to say it is the most detrimental thing to your art would be misleading. In fact getting hung up on how lines should look was a key to why I didn’t progress further in art. Even then this is completely neglecting that artists and mangakas can have really rough sketches that they can later refine. To say that “you need minimize line usage” is a beginner’s trap because of its misleading interpretation.

So...

Why is art so DRAINING and difficult, I been at it for years and I still can barley draw a head. And I don't wanna hear that "just practice more it takes time" from people because they're always so fast to shut others down when they complain
@Lehem_Drill8 ай бұрын
I get where you're coming from bro but you have to practice the right way, now you say you can't draw a head after years of practice but when you were practicing did you practice drawing cubes in different angles and perspectives? Did you simplify everything down to the best you could? Did you practice your lines and all?
@molotov42768 ай бұрын
Use references! Really helped me to draw faces and heads + Try drawing in different angles then u usually draw. Good Luck!❤
@melindasartplace39798 ай бұрын
Look, practice can only take you so far. It's important to practice THE RIGHT WAY with purpose. And what I mean by that is to be careful what your goal is when you practice and be insightful of your practice session. Doing circles is fine but studying Why your circles look the way they do, ask yourself why they are crooked and coming up with different ways to do them is also important. Critical thinking is just as important as practice and choosing the right "teacher" as well. The internet is full of advices, too many even, many are straight up wrong. Paint able community is a good place to start for digital artists, Marco Bucci has a good way of teaching but ofc it also depends what you want to learn. Practice, learning art shouldn't be draining, so there must definitely be something that is mistaken that drains you of love for art.
