Art Studio PLANT TOUR + Basic plant care tips

A tour of the plants in my art studio! My studio is not only a work place for me, but it has become a garden as well. I love caring for plants and being surrounded by them! I also share some basic plant care tips for beginners, on how to keep your plants alive.
I am an artist residing in sunny, warm [humid] florida! My paintings are heavily inspired by nature and its beauty. I work primarily in oil, and sometimes watercolor. The vast majority of what I share here on youtube involves my creation process: paintings, drawings, time lapses, tips, and occasionally artist vlogs, where I share bits of my life as an artist. Creating art is my greatest passion and I'm thankful for the chance to share it with you. ♥

When I was in high school I had a garden in front of my house I use to take care of. The neighborhood kids use to call me gay and make fun of me because I liked flowers. I’d imagine having plants around also helps with depression and replacing oxygen when using aromatic paint Also this is super helpful if even just for a reminder and some motivation 💓🌱👍🏻

Plaaaants🙂 plants and music. They do like vibrations too. They are alive. Friendship plant is a super easy starter plant, you almost can't kill it. (And they're pretty) Also measuring your water😉 If you like a cool house (65°ish) you only need a very few oz per day. As where if you like a hotter house...(75°) or higher, more oz of water! Nice vid Lena.

I have always loved art and colours, and this spring I got into the world of plants and I also agree that art and plants compliment each other as the plants available are amazing with a great variety and colours as well as the variances in designs of leaves and textures. Your photography of your plants is well done so the complainers should appreciate that part of your art as well. Nicely done and very informative, great advice.

Keep the soil most and bright indiect light for the rabbits foot fern. Super easy and super quick grower! I love it. Hydrospike it, will love you for it. Its totally not dramatic at all!

Yes! I have a growing succulent collection in my studio but I don't get a lot of light and was worried about bringing new plants into the space. I really love ferns and vines and may have to go check out what is available in my area. Unfortunately, one of our cats will chew even on fake greenery so my studio ends up being pet free which isn't actually too bad of a thing. Thanks for the basic tips at the end ^_^

Awesome! Love my plants. We have a rabbit foot fern in our bathroom. It loves the humidity in there and doesn’t need direct sunlight. It’s happy with the filtered light from the window above it. We do give it a very good water, allowing water to soak in the saucer underneath it. But we only water it once a week, usually once a fortnight.

Thank you so much I really love plants and I used to have 3 lots and unfortunately 2 of them died when I had to travel for a month to an other country I told a friend of mine to take care of them but she forgot about them and when I came they were already dead:"/ the only one that survived was a small cactus now I only have the small cactus and I'm planing to get more of them the video was really helpful :")

I loved this video! It was so great to see all your beautiful and well cared plants and learn something new about plant care! :) It reduced my fear of taking care of a plant a lot, so i'll definitely get a plant once i've got room for it (i already know where i want to place it, i just need a shelf in my room^^)! Before i just didn't take care of plants at all, but i never decided to get one myself, they were always just gifted to me at birthdays (until everyone knew i didn't want one), especially because they were cut flowers and died after some weeks anyway. :/

Loved this video, Lena! Ever since I was a little girl i've loved plants and flowers, and always wanted a greenhouse. Despite this, I always seem to kill the plants I have. Last year I bought 2 curcuma siam shadow plants, and they thrived, went dormant for winter. A few days ago they started sprouting new shoots, and I'm so happy you have no idea. lol.

So....i never knew plants needed to be fed. I just thought, keep them in Sun, and water when the soil is dry. I have a plant at home now. I have no idea what it is. But it has survived a lot. It's over 15 years old and we have never fed it. Just water. It's even survived bleach. (Long story) Thanks for the info. I want to start buying plants to keep in my room and improve my mood. Ps. It doesn't have a drainage pot either. Lol.

I feel like it's essential to have plants around your house. I have them all over my room, and it just makes me feel so god. I love taking care of plants, I'm not sure why but I feel so content with watering and giving sunlight to plants and raising them, and they give me oxygen in return haha.

I actually really loved this video!! I think your style and your art in general (despite the majority of them being portrait related) already shows an appreciation for nature, so i should hope a video like this wouldnt bother any of your previous viewers. at least, i enjoyed it a lot AHAH hearing the plant names was super helpful! i mainly have a ton of succulents but going into ferns and vines is going to be so fun and refreshing!

I have one of the main plant you talked about (I don’t know how to spell it) (the super long one lol) and with moving to a new house and having bad depression I didn’t water it for 4/6 months and it was in the shade and it lived, thrived actually! I was very surprised because sadly all my other plants died, but I’m taking good care of it now and it’s so beautiful

You have a Beaauutiful collection of plants! I work as a florist in a grocery store and we sell a lot of these. Great taste. The maidenhair isn't as tricky as u think! Just give them the love they deserve and plants will thrive :-) Fyi, most tropical plants that we have here as houseplants do not like direct sunlight, but instead like partial shade/bright shade because the way they grow in nature is underneath large palm trees and other large trees in the rainforests. So keep that in mind.. they grow below large leaf trees and direct sunlight will burn their leaves.

great video ! i've really been trying to integrate more plants into my room but i have to be careful with my cat. unfortunately he killed my first succulent by eating its roots so i got a kalanchoe blossfeldiana. it's been rough trying to keep it alive but it's finally thriving again and i'm so happy to see its colors come back!
