I love those paint sticks ... I got a small pack of those (different brand) for my 2yr old at the time before we went on a road trip as she loved paints and hated using crayons (not pigmented enough for her 😂) and I’ve kept them on hand ever since as it’s great for quick fun painting / drawing sessions with her and very mess free and quick to set up and put away ... she’s 4 now and got her a new set for her birthday just gone ... I never thought to use them myself for making my own art ... definitely will have to give that a go next time! ... and I love that you paint with your niece it’s so lovely that she has you to support / teach her ... I’ve been doing the same with my 4 yr old and she loves to paint with me ... I’ve actually posted a couple of videos of us painting together and she is great at giving me instructions on how to paint things too ... it’s great painting with younger children/teens and seeing their excitement at learning / experiencing new things ... love your videos! Those paint sticks look great. I had some crayola twistables which I was inspired to use after watching your loose object drawings and I was impressed by them. So I tried the regular crayola crayons, I have only ever used the cheap crayons that were kinda transparent with really low pigment and I cannot believe how good crayola are. I also tried a cheap pack from my supermarket and they are pretty close to crayola so looks like the cheap brands have improved a lot. I will definitely be using them, I love me a cheap art supply :). Also I have started some new art/sketch journals from being inspired by you, I was very inspired by the patterns you use so I made a pattern journal I can pull out when I need pattern inspiration for my drawings I have been copying patterns from random plates and items on amazon lol I love it and its a nice easy task for when I am tired, a journal for drawing loose objects around the house and I finally started a patterns in nature project I have been meaning to start. @@sandihester Thank you for the reply :) I was having a bad night, I fell asleep from exhaustion and woke up feeling really unwell with a migraine, your reply really perked me up I also found your podcast interview so I listened to that and I have filled 7 pages in my objects book. Really quick simple messy images with a unibal fine pen and my eyes are blurry but drawing your loose way I can just fill in some of the information myself (I am normally really picky and trying to draw everything exact) so that is really helpful for when i'm feeling unwell and also with my eyes getting worse a bit less scary (i am not going blind just getting worse vision as an artist who wants to draw realistic work its worrying). Yes so I have had a blast and I am really happy with the images. I have always wanted to draw more realistic I never thought I would like drawing more rough loose sketches I mean obviously it is fun but I am really liking the outcomes too. Maybe you have addressed this in another video,( new subi,e here), but how did you or why did you change over from a more traditional style of watercolor, I guess it's called realistic, to oils in more of a folk art style, and is folk art how you describe your style? I know you said you didn't like to be precise when painting in watercolor, but how did you do the transition? Did you just wake up one day and say I'm going to paint with oils in a whimsy fashion? and was it hard? ps. I lived in Virginia most of my life and collect Queena Stovall art and P. Buckley Moss, so your art is right up my alley. I paint in watercolor and love combining it with collage.

😂😂😂 ur wearing the color you “hate” 😂😂 u remind me of myself and music. Many times I’ll hear a song and not like it at all and after about 3 times I like it. Strange 😂 good haul btw! I’ve been on a posca spree. (My first sets ever sooo)! 😂 can anyone suggest a good cheaper acrylic paint that’s not see thru thin? I’m a single mom and on a tiny budget. Sometimes the Walmart stuff of ok but sometimes it’s so thin it’s pointless 😂

Hi sandi, Faber-Castell castell do gelatos same sort of thing but artist quality and you can use watercwith them, I've got loads and they are gorgeous. They do metallic ones as well.

Someone help me. There's a light skinned, heavyset, black lady and, I think she has glasses. She's an artist, who if I'm not mistaken, referenced this video before doing her paint stick review (it isn't "creativewah"). Her name is something like krafty Karen. She did one piece that was of musicians or a maestro in an orchestra. Can someone help me find this channel?
