Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week. This Laser Engraver is awesome so if you’re looking for one, I would highly recommend it. Enjoy!

Great video! I've ran a CNC machine for years for my business and just bought the D1 Pro 20w to see what lazer is like and waiting for it arrive and it just smacked me watching your vid that I'm not gonna have to use anything to hold down the pieces I'm making! That makes me very happy. lol.

This was possible the best explanation of the D1 pro 20w I have seen.

I have one ordered. Supposed to be here around end of August. I use co2 laser at work. I’m excited to play with A diode laser. Good vid.

I am IMPRESSED!!! Although I wasn't expecting the price to be that high, after thinking about what you can achieve with it and how quickly you could make your money back I think the price is justified. Other than that the only thing I could think of improving would be to have a larger work area. I would want something 'movie poster' size just so I have that ability if a project ever needed it. Recently I've been watching some woodworking channels and I see a lot of guys using epoxy with some really beautiful pieces and the first thing I thought about when trying to think of novel ways to use this laser engraver was to make epoxy layers that you would engrave and then put them together as if they were one solid piece, but I'm not sure how well it would work on semi-transparent epoxies. Maybe that's something that will come up as an experiment for you one day :) Thanks for showing us this amazing tech!!! :D

They do sell an extension kit for around 200$ to make the work area double.

That seems like a fantastic machine, you could sure make a lot of neat projects with that! Love Bob's Burgers:-) The ad in the middle was from xtool, do you pick the ads that run? Most likely it was another instance of Google spying on me lol
@ArtByAdrock2 жыл бұрын
No I don’t pick the ads, I’ve been seeing a lot for Xtool myself.

Why is it every Xtool D1 review video on KZbin starts off with "they sent this to me for free to do an honest review"? I have a hard time believing ANY of these positive reviews.

Great video! I especially like to addition of the "spoil board". I've been researching this model but can't find the dimensions (size) of the machine anywhere. Would you please let me know the size of your spoil board, so I can know if everything will fit on the counter I hope to place it? Thanks!
@ArtByAdrock2 жыл бұрын
The spoil board I’m using is a 2 foot x 2 foot plywood board. The machine fits perfectly on it 👍🏻

Thanks I think I might buy this machine. I wanted to get a fiber laser but it's too expensive for me, so this seems like a pretty good choice, plus I get to use wood.

Hi! I have a 100W CO2 laser cutting machine that suits my needs very well. What I basically need to know is two pieces of information that I haven't found in any demo yet. Diode laser operational lifetime. How many hours do I work? The second question is: in a single pass do I actually cut how many mm of wood and at what power x time?. My problem with CO2 is that it takes up a lot of space and is also very heavy. This causes me trouble. Thanks.
@ArtByAdrock2 жыл бұрын
It’s rated for 100,000 hours. This will cut 20mm plywood if you run it at 100mm/min at 100% power. You could go thicker with multiple passes though. Hope that helps you.
@Campos20112 жыл бұрын
@@ArtByAdrock Wow good to know, that equates to 4,166 (24hr) days. Quite a bit of life, I’m sure though closer to end it gets weaker.
@awldune2 жыл бұрын
Great job, you sound so comfortable talking to the camera. This looks like a ton of fun, although the issue for most of us (besides the price) is the space it takes up. Where your stainless steel piece warped, I wonder if you could up a heatsink under the workpiece. Or maybe do it in rwo passes?

Thanks for the video.... I am a complete newbee. They just delivered my XTool 20w Pro. Where did you get the feet? And, I am going to assume that you only use your grid board for etching and remove it for cutting?
@ArtByAdrock2 жыл бұрын
I 3D printed the feet I found on Thingiverse. And yes, I only really use the grid when etching, sometimes cutting if I have a piece of aluminum to put under the material that is the same size so I don’t burn the grid off

I bought a xTool D1 Pro Upgraded Laser Engraver after a frustrating connection with Makeblock after having issues with the laser quitting after about 20 minutes. I communicated with them over a 3-day period and finally sent it back to Amazon. How has yours been working?

Put the air assist on a bracket and a spring. Having the pump dangle away from wall. Much more quiet.

So when you started this channel you were melting different metals and making molds of various items just like big bigstacked in Australia. Now your turning into a salesman for all of these different laser engravers ! So do you like selling these than your regular you tube channel 🤔 ? Me , I liked it more when you were melting metals and turning it into a work of art .

i am wanting to custom engrave ready made projects at craft fairs and such. with no camera how easy is it ti line up and get perfect alignment?

It’s very easy. The laser module has a built in cross beam so you know exactly the starting point of the project. 👍🏻

Adrock, share with me how you cut the top to the treasure chest plz! Dr B
@ArtByAdrock2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? I found the vector file online but to make it so it curves you just need to add offset lines that are close together. That will make the wood able to be flexible. If that’s what you were wondering 🤷🏻♂️
@rocketglass12 жыл бұрын
Hello may I ask do you have the file available for the feet or do you sell them?
@Curious_Skeptic2 жыл бұрын
just wondering if atomstack is a better value... Xtool seems to have great documentation, but honestly, it will all come down to laser quality and support. Sounds like there's no really great support on any of them. They all from over seas. Which then you wonder, DIY, as I won't have any assistance anyway? Great video though.
@ArtByAdrock2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried the atomstack so I’m now sure how it compares. I guess it all depends on what you plan on using the machine for. If youre using it to simply cut or engrave wood, leather or acrylic the Xtool works great
@Curious_Skeptic2 жыл бұрын
@@ArtByAdrock Thanks. Guess we'll see if anything comes out between now and late October. The more I dig, the more I'm wondering whether to keep this a hobby, or go bigger and try to make some money.
