Mr. Clark, I do not have enough words to express my gratitude for sharing your work with us. You give what you know and the knowledge that you have accumulated with so many years of work, you do not have any selfishness and allow us to learn from you. I wish many of the so-called greats learned a bit from you. Thanks again for your time and for your talent.

Love that, thank you. My son also lives on the south coast and I just love those sea views. Q - how do you know when you’re done? I have a habit of fiddling and not knowing when enough is enough.
@ArtbyPaulClark4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dilys - that's a great question and it's one I ask myself every time I paint! - Many a time I've ruined a painting by overworking it - but I've taught myself to stop when there is enough info to suggest what the subject is (if that makes sense!!) It's always good to be a little vague so the viewer has to interpret things for themselves. It's probably the hardest thing of all and I know many artists struggle with it. I guess a lot of it comes down to experience and not trying to be too literal when coping a reference photos.

I was a huge fan of Bob Ross, I still am, I would sit and watch and listen to Bob as he spoke and painted, enthralled as these most beautiful of paintings emerged and I would think, "I could do that". I believed it when he told me that I too, "could do it". I never did of course, life stuff and all that would take over. Nevertheless, for that half hour, I escaped. I cannot give a greater compliment than to say that is how I felt watching you paint. I am so glad that I spent some of my time here; that picture is simply stunning. The tone, even the music and humour, I loved. In these most difficult of times, for everybody, I really need to start. Thank you for this. :)

You have inspired me so very, very much. I’ve followed many artists on KZbin since retiring a few years ago and have now unsubscribed from most of them! Your explanations and humour are encouraging on the worst of days here in East Anglia where, in recent times, we seem to have nothing but cold wind from the north! We also live very near the sea, different from your coast but beautiful.
