Cauliflower flows are not bad especially if they represent trees or intentionally texture in rocks or bricks. I sometimes allow them when painting water they indicatectexture like water grasses or mossy rock. I also did most of my paintings using no more than 4 colors. I like it simple. My mentor was Brad Braune , a great Texas watercolorist who painted using a 1 inch flat brush and no more than 4 colors.
