you never defeat a dragon with a weapon, but with a plan ! And then another plan when the first fails, and you kill it by dumb luck or after a terrible fight... Every RPG party knows that ! So a knife is always better than nothing. Bu tI would go for the climbing ice ax... ^^

The story sucked ass but they did the monsters justice by making their designs very accurate and the effects of them are a nice distraction from the terrible plot. I personally like the Diablos scene in the desert

In the MH games the weapons are made from materials from other monsters that give them superior resistance as well as elemental damage, I suppose they wanted to imitate that in the movie

They were not aiming at their mouth of the beast. They were shooting all over the place. She was aiming at the mouth. Basically they did not have to information about the weakness which she had. Also, I had not seen any of them use rockets and missiles so it is possible they underestimated the opponent.

It's not so much about firepower but the knowledge that is power. It's like the Achilles heel to a mighty dragon. Smaug from The Lord of the Rings had a 20 ft metal spear that pierced his heart and he fell back to the middle earth.

Give this knowledge to someone who is good with bows and arrows like Legolas and he too could have brought Smaug down.
