Headed out to The Terrace (Purple Noons Transparent Might) yesterday to paint. I couldn't get a good view coz of the overgrowth blocking my view so I popped my drone out and lowered it down to the river. Low and behold the sheoaks where still growing there and I got my composition. Every time I go back to the Hawkesbury I'm reminded how great of an artist Streeton was. He was in his prime painting Purple Noons Transparent Might you can see it in the painting. Very inspired by this documentary, thanks a bunch 🎨

Time and time again we need to be reminded of the amazing talent of our wonderful artist in Arthur Streeton. I thoroughly enjoyed this short film and have watched it several times. So a big thank you to all who worked on this film and the book and brilliantly curated exhibition, a great legacy has been left to all and this is much appreciated.

This was wonderful, thank you! So many remarkable Australian artists! I am surprised he never met John Peter Russell while in Europe, given JP Russell and Tom Roberts were in communication; or perhaps they did...?

i'm glad we have his paintings but i wonder what he would have produced had he devoted himself to poetry. very evocative writing

to me personally-his paintings show the 'colour' of that time, which we dont see in black & white photographs, so it gives us a connection to how the late Victorians saw and lived

Incredibly bittersweet; lovely to learn of Streeton and his contemporaries yet their ability to roam and enjoy the land was only made possible by the violent removal + murder & social denigration of thousands of First Nations clans and people; who never ceded sovereignty of their Country. Lest We Forget.
