This is an awesome interview. Sometimes it's hard to relate to certain guests, but Mr Laundy seems like a really extraordinary person. He's the kind of person the new generations should listen to and strive to be. Thanks Mark for another great episode!

My family went to Twin Willows hotel for Mother’s Day a number of years ago. Mr Laundy cleared our tables and had a delightful conversation with my elderly nana about what she thought of the cake. I didn’t know who he was at the time but he made our day. He is right to describe himself as a publican. I would describe him as a true gentleman

Inspirational interview on a humble man who respected his father’s hard work and continued the legacy of his father installing this into his children/grand children. I will be having a 🍻 at one of his pubs. Ps paid for the replacement of my friends knee reconstruction while he was playing for his beloved Twin Willows Rugby League team. He can never thank him enough

Great podcast (as usual) Mark! My family has lived in Canterbury for 100 years this year. My Dad and his parents migrated from Scotland and built a house in Northcote St Canterbury in 1924. We still have our original house. It was the second house built in the old pasture. My Dad was at the very first Canterbury game. Dad died at 101, 7 years ago. He’d love how we are playing now and how we are back. Arthur might be a Tigers fan at heart but he is a real Canterbury man. He and Gus have brought back that Bullfrog spirit to the club. Bullfrog would be proud. Grateful to the Board too. We fans are proud of our club. The players now playing for the Dogs and the way they are coached by Cirro is Canterbury through and through. Listening to Arthur is like listening to my Dad’s generation and a way of life passing. Long may he and his family live and be successful. Thanks Arthur.

Great interview, brought back early memories of living at Riverwood. I don't really know where it is now as my parents moved us accross the road from DY beach in 62' and that started the surfing and making surfboards lifestyle. I have released my first interview on KZbin, Australian surf stories with Geoff McCoy, his last interview before he passed in April this year. I have about 8 more waiting to be edited, next one is Shane Stedman. Thought this might interest you Mark, thanks, John Harris.

He only had 5 or 6 pubs for many years then the government put pokies in the pubs and it was not long and he owned about 30. . When his dad died they never found the plane for about 20 years then when Australia had heat waves Warragamba dam went real shallow and they see the plane from the air and they finally found his dad. . I spent over 50 years drinking at Laundys pubs . I still remember the add on TV old Marge the bar maid the catch thrase we sell the best schooner in Yagoona. I was forever getting barred from his pub . He was okay but he use to give us money if we had a fishing club or footy team cricket team he sponsored us many times .

Mark, this would have to be my most loved interview you have done (all have been fantastic but having Arthur on is the best). I use to go to Twin Willows every afternoon after work. Arthur would always come to the floor and mingle with the patrons. I had just got into waste management and he gave me the opportunity to inspect all his pubs to provide him with a quote so he could give me the business (because he is a gentleman and respects this patrons), I didn't get the work BUT not because of price, the company I was working for couldn't provide all the services they needed and the areas all his pubs were located. I always remember Arthur because he had such an impact on me that was amazing, sat with me and had drinks and gave me advice from the heart!!!!! An absolute gentleman, caring, honest a true gem!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for doing this interview Mark, na sai kala aderfe!

I no longer go to Pubs or Clubs because they are all about Gambling. Beers are so expensive I no longer drink. Woolworths & Coles destroyed the place where you would see your mates. Wonderful man, deserves his success. Once Controls are implemented in the Gaming machines. The cash cow that has kept these relics of the past open will have disappeared. Publicans at woolies pubs couldn't pour a beer.
