Yes, me too, on the Rewind Channel. I remember Nearest and Dearest first time around but I'd forgotten how brilliant it was. Hylda was the greatest comic genius the North of England ever produced and we are unlikely to see anyone as good again. This performance comes across as sweet and kind of nice. Even if this was intended and planned and performed as pure comedy, something pleasant and agreeable came shining through. Could be something about the man's facial expressions and postures. The raunch and aggression of the original version is gone, and this is about two people expressing affection for each other. I would like to thank the producer of this youtube channel. I have enjoyed this (Note: have never seen these two performers before. I'm contributing this comment from the US).

I'm sure Hilda (Nellie Pledge) and Arthur Millard would have done much better job in the big film version rather than Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. Nellie Pledge is fantastic has Sandy with ONJ coming a poor second. Nellie Pledge looks too young for the part really. This is British comedy at its best and daftest. I wonder what our American friends think of this much superior version of "Your The One That I want" ? I doubt that they would understand the deliberate mispronunciation and double meanings to some of the words e.g. Meditate and medicate. Pure Hylda.
