Designing a grim-dark Mace in Blender using NO paid addons

I thought it would be nice to design something with no paid for addons for those that might be new to Blender and haven't yet explored addons that work for them or they think would be helpful to their workflow.
Lots of little workflow tips in this one too, again to help those looking to focus some more on hard surface modelling.

I know this is really, really off-topic and out there, but you and your community are the only people with amazing Blender knowledge who may be able to help me with my predicament right now. I have set up an emission particle system with velocity, and the problem I'm having is that it breaks and stops emitting when I try to increase the frame rate of my animation. I'm Asking this is a last ditch effort as i have spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure it out.

@ArtisansofVaul Good news my friends! I found the solution. I just needed to re-bake the partical cashe which fixed it. Of course it was a classic blender analogous to 'turning it off and on again'. And now I feel extra silly.

I'm watching these tips and my mind is just melting. How quickly you jump between the hot keys and tools. The linking is something I didn't know about and is so cool for things like that. I have to keep rewinding to check exactly what steps and keys used to get these modifications. Every video I have to do that once. This time, there are so many helpful tips that I have to keep rewinding, going "what was that?!" Edit- what setting do you have enabled that makes the "Cutters" get organized into their own collection? Is that one of the add ons or just a setting?

for the inset cut , passive star addon has it and it's free; for inset cut quickly without addon , I flip the face normals for the cutter, and then do a slice( not difference , not union but slice) , it will cut the object , and then you just need to extrude along the normals and it's doing pretty the same effect edit: click on even on the panel when extruding along normals

I am having trouble with the machin3 tools addon. I pressed shift+alt+x and it did nothing and I also did ctrl+- and it did nothing as well.

Machine Tools has a lot of functions so you need to activate then in the addon menu for the ones you want. It's there to give you control over your shortcuts. For the ctrl+- that uses Bool Tools, as mentioned in the video, so you need to activate that (it's natively in Blender). Also the - needs to be on the numberpad, just in case you aren't aware of that 👍🏻

@@ArtisansofVaul I activated grouping objects with empties as parents in the preferences area in Blender, and it still does nothing. I tried the - on the number pad and on the keyboard.

@@sebastiancortez781 Im not sure where you got grouping objects from, thats not what you're doing. You need to activate the mirror tool. If the ctrl + - is still not working I can only assume you have not activated Bool Tools as I explained.
