I'm a 68 yr old lady, proud army & these young men saved my life literally. Stopped me from committing suicide . I'm grateful to these young men for their uplifting messages. American artists said they weren't rappers, performers & couldn't sing. Also they are just a boys band & wouln't last. Lol, surprise haters!! Mic drop was a message to all the haters. They were saying how many awards & trophies they've won. How they have sold out concerts. Told the haters they are done with them, no need to apologize bc they don't want it. No further, they are who they are, no excuses & as Suga said ,"Ah,sue me !" They're saying they won't address the haters again. BTS is still cautious with other artists bc they had been used for clout, had to deal with the racism directed toward them etc. Great message bc now they can pick & choose who they want to collab with. So looking forward to their world tour. Gotta love & respect my baby-boys for who they are, beautiful people. Akita, 🇺🇸 lady

Akita - THANK GOODNESS you happened upon BTS in time to save yourself! Judging by your comment you've found a safe haven in the seven members. So have I (67-year-old white gay guy ARMY). The themes BTS explores have meaning to most of the listening audience. The guys tell us to respect ourselves, because respect brings forth love. But they also tell us to respect others - so long as the "others" aren't acting maliciously. The love yourself concept is a bit radical for Southeast Asia, wherein family and company (the company one works for) matter a great deal. But here's the deal - one can only give his or her all to others if they respect and love themselves. You keep on respecting and loving yourself. Remember that, like BTS, you are a beautiful person. BORAHAE!

Some of BTS recurrent/Korean producers: - PDogg (Big Hit in house producer. He was their teacher pre-debut, also their main in house producer, currently like a music director I guess, that why he's everywhere... Has a background in classic music/not sure if he specialized on classical or jazz... I would assume jazz based on his music, but it's just a guess... Also knows a lot about hiphop, extremely eclectic style of work) - Slow Rabbit (Big Hit in house producer. Known for his beautiful melodies/compositions, tends to have more of a sentimental/sensitive vibe, currently in charge of TXT too) - Hitman Bang (Bang PDnim, also founder and chairman of Big Hit Ent., studied aesthetics in university which is something like philosophy and ethics in relation to the arts, became a famous music producer under JYP Ent., used to produce ballads, only learned to produce hiphop during the process of putting BTS group together... Says he became so obsessed with hiphop, he forgot how to do anything else lol He's also like a music director, usually has credits in all title tracks and sociopolitical tracks) - Supreme Boi (ex- Big Hit rapper trainee, stayed as a music producer, has more of an edgy-90s hiphop mixed with punkish-teen-rebel-wannabe-bad-guy thing going on his sound... His touch is very recognizable) - ADORA (good melodies, sometimes sings backup female vocals, sweet lovely voice, recently left Big Hit, in order to debut as a solo artist in another smaller company) - DOCSKIM (in house Big Hit producer, keyboardist of the "Ghost Band" that performs with BTS on concerts, his tracks often have a film score vibe, like dramatic and kinda orchestral) - Hiss Noise (producer, lyricist) - EL CAPITXN (formerly known as J.Pearl... Singer songwriter, former member of the boy group HISTORY) - Bumzu (singer/artist under Pledis Ent., cheerful guy, energetic joyful sound, has collaborated/helped Jin with his solos) - Suga (makes beats, hiphop lover, but also likes to produce soft or bright songs for female vocalists with high pitched and unique timbers) - RM (eclectic, hiphop lover, focuses on lyricism first and builds the song around that, has a liking for melancholic indie rock music) - J Hope (makes beats, usually works in collaboration with someone instead of alone, often goes for a 90s pop-funk influence, extremely good and creative musicality) Foreign producers that have occasionally collaborated with BTS/Big Hit (mostly since Love Yourself album series Era): - Jordan ‘DJ Swivel’ Young (seems to work usually with Jungkook) - Candace Nicole Sosa - Melanie Joy Fontana (I think she works with her husband Michel “Lindgren” Schulz too, but we don't like them, because they're arrogant and try to take all the credit... Anyways, she mostly makes hook melodies and some backup vocals) - Steve Aoki (Japanese-American DJ, I believe he works with a team of producers though) - Ed Sheeran (British pop-folk singer/songwriter) - Sleep Deez - Cosmo’s Midnight Etc... Basically, teams of foreign producers send demos or beats to Big Hit, and if they find something that's good quality or suitable for the members direction and concept for the album they're working on, they take that demo and work over it with the BTS members and their in house team. Usually the members do most of the songwriting in Korean and modify melodies and add alibis as they edit the songs.

I got my BTS introduction on the Tiny Desk Concert and the first recommendation that You Tube brought up for me when I fell down the rabbit hole was the dance practise for this song. I was hooked. I then went looking and found this version. The dance practise is a bit different (and uses more Korean lyrics) but it still made me sit up and take note. After learning about want they went through with all the haters, I really enjoyed this. The break is them saying this is the last time we're gonna give you haters any thought - don't try to apologise, we don't want to hear it! They do fab live performances of it too.

Cathy Kim was the producer for the MV. Pdogg produced the song and then Steve Aoki did the remix. Suga helps to produce a lot of their songs and they write their own music. Suga is always creating beats. RM and J hope we're the main writers/lyrics for Mic Drop. But yes they have a production team that works with them. Pdogg, Supreme Boi, Bang PD, and Slow Rabbit to name a few .

Yes, they know Kanye. In fact, his name has been mentioned more than once in the rap line’s lyrics. If you’re curious about their hip-hop influences, you should definitely react to the their old song Hip-Hop Phile (or also called Hip-Hop Lovers). There are color-coded lyric videos and there’s even a live performance of it.

Thanks for sharing this with Lucas. He maybe needs to know the reason for Mic Drop- it's their response to haters who showed unbelievable levels of disrespect and rudeness to their faces - especially RM and Suga who had been underground rappers, but were told that now they are behaving like girls because they get make up done to go on stage. The emotion they include in this is real, and, while it is a flex, it also reveals their real pain and vulnerability. This is why so many of us love BTS. We love that everything they do is genuine, and they are very honest and real. As it happens, I also like this a lot more than Butter, which at first I disliked. Now, knowing that all it is meant to be is a letter from BTS to cheer up ARMY and other people all over the world, I love it.
@Limericks863 жыл бұрын
I feel like Lucas would also really enjoy Dionysus, Ddaeng, Cyphers 1-4, Ugh, Black Swan,Lie, Singularity and the Truth Untold. Take your time. There are fans that watch BTS reactors for funny content, but I feel like there are even more who love getting to learn about their production elements. I feel when BTS release their next album which should be pretty soon you will definitely be closer to meeting your goals. Armys love to check out new reactors when new music is dropped and they will definitely love what they find.

When you said their music transcends time like Queen and The Beatles you nailed it. I kept wanting to make comparisons to the greats, because that's what BTS music feels like, but never could get to the point of why other than it's just great music that feels brand new yet instantly familiar all at once. It's because it transcends the time it was made.

Ao the boys all tell us that they are constantly trying to improve and evolve thats why they are so diverse. They dont mind mixing styles or genres to suit what they want to potray in their music and its an absolute joy for people who find them to go thru the discography in order. Also there are so many "B" sides that would have been mega hits if released as singles. To be honest they dont make any bad songs, there might be one or two that dont appeal to a person but they have over 300 songs including all the mixtapes and the other stuff they have released on soundcloud and given to us for free. If you follow the journey you can see the work they have put in and also that their music as grown with them as they sing about what affects them at the time.

There is no MV of the original version (pre Steve Aoki), but there is the BTS Comeback special where they do it live. It was really good, but this version was better. Then there is a version (audio only) with Steve Aoki and ft Desiigner on several music platforms. BTS were really starting to show up as a new, almost big time, player in the American music scene at this time, and Mic Drop really helped them in that goal. Lots of people who liked rap, but had no idea about kpop, discovered BTS during this time.

Hi, I am really impressed by their voices so exact and with so many different nuances of these guys, and live they are so great and maybe more than in the videos, that's why I get excited every time I see them and how natural they are, without trying too hard They reach wonderful and high voices, they are really great, their talents of each one and everything that leads BTS to be the best band of the year in music even if it is not recognized by the people who decree the grammys, they miss it if they don't They give it to them this year, well, with everything that BTS is for people not only in music and artistic gifts, but also as humble people that they are when treating them, they have become icons for people who see in them a way of a different life, healthier, and respecting himself and valuing himself spiritually; Maybe people needed something like that after they saw the churches fall and lost faith, especially the young people who in silence began to show their disappointment in their bodies without seeing positive results and in the search for a table of salvation, and in that The way I found these young people who gave them another type of strength, accepting and valuing themselves as they are, loving their bodies, and others, accepting the bad as learning for their lives with courage, pride, and strength: that's why BTS It became the greatest thing in the lives of young people and they have taught it to their parents and grandparents, and they have also changed their lives to feel happier and more grateful: since nothing they impose, only with their example of their lives and their talents have made something that even they do not understand in extent or magnitude, since their only purpose was to get the youth out of suicide, drugs and discouragement of life: BTS are boys who still have a lot to know and I saw vir in life, they are not perfect since they are human like all of us, only that they try to give the best of them sincerely and with respect to their public whom they love and who loves them: they give everything for that love that ARMI da, even if they have to give up many things in their lives, but consider that that is the sacrifice for being BTS
