Gwen, so excited to have found you. You speak my creative language & you put my thoughts in ti words😃. Even your choice of lively colors, looks like my palette. Thank you for emphasizing “having a plan” I tend to ponder over what I’m going to do for a bit before I start them. Then I hear from others, that’s not intuitive, that’s not expressing yourself in the moment. But as you said, it changes as it goes. But I am trying to keep your words in my head, “be silent & let the creativity speak!” Thank you so much! Are you using cold wax when you are painting this? I found your videos because I discovered CWM & want to learn more.

Thank you for your lovely comment....it means a lot to me that you took the time to say this....now for your question.....No I was not using cold wax in this painting....although I may have at the end.....it has been a while since I did the painting. @@GwenFoxArtist When I look at abstract art, all I see is colours and shapes. Is that what abstract art is? When I see a scene, like Landscape, Seascape or an animal, a portrait I see something that I'd like to re create. It's meanful to me. I guess I don't see the meaning with abstract art.
@GwenFoxArtistАй бұрын
@@colincannings7946 Colin.....I see your point and I used to believe the same thing......until I saw really good abstract art. It moved me....it excited me and I had to learn more. The more I learned the more I loved abstract art. Now I have to say....a lot of abstract art says nothing and there is a LOT of bad abstract art out there. Here is what I look for....a Abstract art is about design that is exciting, colors that move me and shapes that tell a story. Your landscape, portrait, seascape art has an abstract design underneath their image....look for it....it is important to recognize it. Take for example...a landscape is not just a field , trees and sky....the shape of the field, and possible building in the distance is probably considered the same shape when you squint your eyes....why? because the values are close and read as one. I could go on an on but don't worry about not liking abstract art but don't shut it out as not worthy of your viewing. Start looking at it and there will be one that will move you.....remember that piece and then judge others by that piece and ask why? Why did it move you? Keep me informed.
@colincannings7946Ай бұрын
@@GwenFoxArtist Thank you Gwen. When you mention, what I might consider an under painting of a landscape which is distinguishing the foreground, middle ground and sky. I can see how that could be seen as abstract.
