The Resident Evil 8/Village ending broke my heart when I played through it. Poor Ethan, honestly. This and the short bits of what I’ve seen him go through in Resident Evil 7 are just heartbreaking.

Perhaps Lady D has somewhat of a respect toward Ethan for sacrificing himself to get his child out of there and stop the beast in its tracks before it could do any harm. She seemed to feel sympathy. Though by how much is the question. To see the one who killed your children sacrifice himself for his own child. How much sympathy would you feel?
